David Wright is as Close as You Will Get to Being a Complete Baseball Player

David Wright can do anything. He can hit home runs - 33 HRs in 2008, knock in runs - 124 RBIs last year, steal bases - 34 SB in 2007, etc. He has won two Gold Gloves for his fielding at 3rd base in 2007 and 2008. . Barring an injury, he should be setting all sorts of high career stats for himself. If you pick David Wright early in your 2009 Fantasy Baseball Draft, you will not be disappointed.

David Wright is the epitome of your complete player in Major League Baseball. He is only 26 years of age, and just entering his prime. David Wright should be getting better each year. He is soooooooo incredibly consistent it is scary, you can almost predict what batting and fielding numbers he will end with in the 2009 season. He had 33 HRs last year, I believe that he should hit 35+ this year. David Wright batted in 124 RBI, and with the players in front of him, he should be able to achieve 130+ RBIs. The only number that might not go up is the 15 steals in 2008. With Jose Reyes in front of Wright, and considering how valuable David Wright is as a hitter to the New York Mets, I believe that he won't have much more than 15 SBs. David Wright will also help your Runs numbers, because he has mustered 115 runs in each of the last two seasons. This number might go up, because he is a fast and very smart base runner.

David Wright has won the Silver Slugger Award the last two seasons, I do not see any reason why he shouldn't take another Silver Slugger Award home in 2009. Oh, yes let's talk about why he was able to win those Silver Slugger Awards. For the the past four complete seasons that David Wright has been playing for the New York Mets, he has an .309 batting average. He has struck out an average 112 times each season, and he walked an average of 80 times a year. David Wright's slugging percentage is a ..533 while his On Base Percentage is an impressive .390. He will not hurt you in any of your 2009 Fantasy Baseball League statistics with these numbers.

David Wright has two won two golden gloves in the last two years, so if your Fantasy Baseball League has fielding calculated into your final numbers, he will definitely be a high pick. He only committed 16 errors last year and he had a .962 Fielding Percentage. Both of these numbers were the best in his rather short career! He should only get better over the next few seasons.
