Depending on what your ultimate goal is, there are a variety of different ways in which to create this day-by-day pregnancy calendar. If the plan is to use it as a remembrance to pass along to the child-to-be one day, the best bet is to focus on yourself and how you are feeling. Recording the day you first saw a heartbeat, the first kick, and the details of how you felt and what you were thinking will all help you remember the details of your pregnancy later on and provide your child with an interesting look into life before him or her. In this option, you can create a scrapbook type feel, complete with photos and journal articles. You can take pictures of your growing belly throughout pregnancy to include, or include prints of the ultrasound images. Did you find a swatch of cloth that you used to pick your nursery colors later on in the pregnancy? Glue it in there. If you really enjoy journaling, you can include a daily sentiment, or, if you don't, a quote, that makes you think on your new baby.
If your goal is to provide you with a representation of where the child is in terms of development, look on the internet or purchase a book on pregnancy to find out what happens each day. Particularly in the early stages of pregnancy, it is remarkable how quickly your child grows. The amazement I felt when I realized that my child was in the process of creating a heart, lungs, a liver, arms, etc. was unsurpassed by anything not related to the baby. You can also use this option to detail your milestones. The first time the baby kicks can be included. Since this option is more cerebral and less artsy than the previous version of a day-by-day pregnancy calendar, you can create it online, or use a calendar printout with a reminder of what's happening. If you're having a hard time getting through work, Outlook can be set to remind you of daily events. Why not set it to remind you that you're tired and feeling sick today because you just made a brand new set of kidneys for a living, breathing child?
Pregnancy is a singularly magical time, but it is easy to get frustrated. The first few months are full of excitement, but it is, for many people, a detached sort of excitement, given the absence of the ability to feel or touch your baby. He or she is almost entirely an idea rather than reality. A daily calendar gives the option to remind yourself of what is going on inside. Later, as the weight gain and length of the pregnancy start to wear you down, a calendar can help you focus your energy and remind you what you are looking forward to.
