Days Inn Anaheim Review

Just an OK Hotel

Brooke Lorren
I recently stayed at the Days Inn Anaheim at 1030 W. Ball Road in Anaheim, Calif. While there are some good things about the hotel, it has a few drawbacks. I did not have any major problems with my stay there, but I was disappointed in a few areas. Because there are so many hotel choices in the Disneyland area, I will probably choose to stay somewhere else on my next stay.

Good Things about the Days Inn Anaheim

There are many good things I can say about the Days Inn Anaheim. It is clean, although I did see one small bug in the room while I was there. It is very close to Disneyland. In the old days, before Disneyland changed their parking around, I could imagine that it was easy to walk there. I'm sure you could still walk to Disneyland from the hotel, but I don't know how. The Internet is free and the price is reasonable. There is a refrigerator and a microwave, which can come in handy at times.

The Down Side

While the Days Inn Anaheim has several good things about it, there are a few things that make me want to reconsider staying here again. The biggest downside to this hotel is the parking: there is not enough of it. I counted seven illegally parked cars in the parking lot on my last night there. If you stay at Disneyland until the park closes at midnight, you may not find a place to park. We arrived on a Wednesday night after midnight and did find parking. But on Thursday and Friday nights, the parking lot was full and then some. The Budget Inn next door has the exact same parking problem. When we informed the front desk that we had no place to park, the manager directed us to park in a non-parking spot in front of the lobby. Of course, the people who arrive at the hotel last are also likely to be the last people to wake up, compounding the problem.

There are a few other problems with the hotel. The shower was made for short people. I am short and was able to wash my hair without problems. But if you are much taller than five feet, washing your hair will be difficult. It took quite a while for the water to warm up in the evening, but in the morning, the shower warmed up fairly quickly. The walls are very thin, and you can hear guests leaving early in the morning, as well as the traffic going by at all hours of the night. Although the Internet was free, it is very slow. I uploaded some work while I was on my trip, and the pages wouldn't reliably load.

Other Facts about the Days Inn Anaheim

There is an elevator that will take you to the upper floors. This is very nice. The hotel offers a shuttle to Disneyland, but you have to pay to take it. Parking at Disneyland is $15, and the shuttle would cost $10 for a family of four. I didn't find the $5 savings worth it. The Days Inn Anaheim also comes with amenities like a hair dryer, coffee pot and pool. The television receives several local stations and CNN.

This wasn't a bad hotel. I've stayed in far worse. With all the available choices in the area, I probably wouldn't return. Staying close to Disneyland was nice, but since we drove to the park anyway, a mile or two extra wouldn't have made much of a difference. My biggest problem with the hotel was the parking situation. If a guest was forced to park elsewhere and ended up having their car towed or was blocked in and could not leave when they wanted to, it could seriously damage an otherwise great vacation.

  • The Days Inn Anaheim offers a clean room at a reasonable price.
  • There is not enough parking at this hotel, which can be a big problem.
  • While the rooms are nice, there are many other choices in the area.
Disneyland's new parking structure makes it more difficult to walk to the park than it used to be.

It's been eons since we've stayed in a hotel - parking problems would be a real downside. Cheers
