Daytime TV Soap Opera Cancellation: ABC Canceled All My Children and One Life to Live
Is it Possible for the Fans to Save Their Beloved Shows?
Write letters and e-mails
ABC claims to be canceling these two soap operas due to low ratings. Show them that the audience is bigger than they thought. Postcards are better than letters because they do not have to be opened. If you care about one soap more than the other, admit it. The chances are better of only saving one as opposed to both shows. This may be far reaching, but since advertising supports the shows, contact the regular advertisers seen during the soaps and tell them how much you appreciate them supporting your favorite shows. And of course mention that you also purchase their items. The contact information is at the end of this article for ABC.

Sign online petitions
Writing letters is the best way to save any show. But online petitions are important to a lesser extent. There are two links on the side: one redirects to a Facebook page for the soap operas and the other is an online petition. After signing it, do an online search for even more petitions. It's important to sign any that are created because they may not all be submitted. It'd be great if only one petition was created per show, but generally that doesn't happen. http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/save-one-life-to-live/
If the soaps can't be saved, how should they end?
If these two soaps do definitely end then it needs to be on a positive note. All the loose ends should be wrapped up, such as bringing Zach back from the dead on All My Children. After all, the character died because the actor didn't want to move to CA when AMC's filming location was changed.
One Life to Live should bring back the characters Tina and Cord, and have them together. When their grown daughter, Sarah, was on the show she admitted that she didn't know where her brother C.J. was. While this has probably been forgotten by many fans, we need to know what happened to C.J. Also, Clint and Viki should reunite and remarry.

Post a CommentI'm very upset that ABC has canceled All my children and one life to live and now to here that GH also down right is upsetting. I have watched these shows since I was 8 and never missed a show. When I couldn't watch it because of have to be at work had a VCR. Then when they created Soapnet I was happy because I could catch the show at night to get caught up. Now to have all these shows canceled to be replaced by cooking or talk shows sucks in a big way. I don;t to learn to cook or here another boring talk show. I like my soaps I like that with all my problems and every depressing thing going on in the world there is something that can take your mind away from it. and I love all my characters that I have grown up with. I think that it stinks that ABC isn't loyal to the people or the cast members that when everything was good and they made money they were fine and now they don't or have the respect to the people or to the shows. I don't want to watch someone who has no talent or has no clue what talent is . So ABC if this is true I will be glad when all your shows that you put in place crash and burn and your pockets don't get any fatter. I'm done with ABC as much as I like other show see you later.
ABC why have you killed our families we have grown up with and watched for years? You think we would rather have you tell us how we are supposed to cook, act, look and dress your nothing but Communist! This is supposed to be a FREE America where we can be our individual selves. You've taken away an American Family Tradition. Watching our SOAP families has helped us in our dreams, hopes, gave us comfort and an escape for problems we all deal with everyday in this world. I believe people need help in dealing with everyday problems that arise in this world and we have recieved it watching these SOAPS. They do more to help us survive our own lives then you ever will with your do what we want you to do new programs.
SAVE THE AMERICAN FAMILY TRADITION -- RETURN OUR SOAPS!!!
I can't believe this has happened. I have been watching "AMC" and "OLTL" since I was a teenager. And it all happened so sudden!
i am not happy about all my children and one life to live being cancelled i think abc is making a mistake by doing this . i have watched these soaps for as long as i can remember i have grown up with these people on these soaps. when i cant watch them i dvr them everyday. and watch them i wish abc would reconsider thats what we need is more cooking shows and etc on tv i dont think so how dumb can abc be. i bet abc will lose in the long run but they will find out . that they should of kept the 2 soaps. thank u for listening Kathleen Wren :{ {sad}......................
very sad day...its like losing a good friend...now what....boycott..abc...

My goodness! I've been watching since I was in HS and that's over 40 year ago.
My mom salivates waiting for her soaps to come on and all the CNA's sneak into her room to watch AMC and OLTL. Sorry, we're not ready to give them up
Call 818-460-7477 and then press the ext for the soap opera you wish to save. This was in soap opera digest.
This is ridiculous, Taking off our soaps. Food Network is where the cooking shows belong. Sorry Mario but we will NEVER watch you on ABC Keep the soaps on. Obviously you at ABC dont realize how many soap fans there are out there. What other shows havbe lasted as long. DUH!!!!!!!!!
Not surprised. ABC does not like to broadcast things the people like. First, they have banned Adam Lambert, now the few remaining program watchers they have, they are turning their backs again. ABC is a lost cause. Now, I have no reason to ever tune in their junk. Really, does anyone want to watch a women stuggle with weight loss for 5 mos.? I'll just go up to my child's school and watch it, really? Cooking? I go to Food Network or the Cooking Channel. And the View? Thank GO for Cable and FOX NETWORK: That's why O'reilly is where he is and ABC is where they are...no need to worry, I've always wanted to take my child to Disney, but at this point, I won't waste my money or time with $7.00 hotdogs and rat shaped butter for fun. No Disney, No DWTS, No News Broadcast, No pathetic VIEW. Adam Lambert at least has been on other networks, and so have other great performers; Chris Brown, he's all yours baby, hope no one really gets hurt. SO LONG ABC.
