Daytona 500 Drivers Jimmie Johnson, Dale Earnhardt Jr. And Carl Edwards
Will Jimmie Johnson Start the Season on a Quest to Win His 4th Championship?
Jimmie Johnson driver of the Lowes 48 Chevrolet car. Jimmie won his 3rd consecutive Nascar cup championship in 2008. Jimmie Johnson won the Daytona 500 in 2006. In 2007 he had a DNF at the Daytona 500. In 2008 Jimmie Johnson won the pole to start first at Daytona. He finished 27th in that race.
Jimmie Johnson and Hendrick Motorsports are now considered a dynasty.
Jimmie Johnson and crew chief Chad Knaus will be trying for a 4th Nascar Nextel Cup Championship. If you know anything about Jimmie Johnson and Chad Knaus, you know this is a very real possibility. The entire Lowes team 48 works so well together. The Lowesracing team is an unstoppable force. You can visit the LowesRacing website here
Dale Earnhardt Jr. driver of the 88 National Guard Chevrolet. Dale Earnhart will be driving for Hendrick for a 2nd year. Previously Dale Jr. drove for DEI. In 2008 Dale Jr. finished 9th at the Daytona 500. In 2007 Dale Earnhardt finished 32nd at Daytona. Dale Jr. won Daytona in 2004.
The Daytona 500 holds a special place for Dale Earnhardt Jr. and all of his fans. Dale Earnhardt Sr. "The Intimidator" died in 2001 after a wreck at the Daytona 500.
Dale Earnhardts jr's crew chief is Tony Eury Jr. Godaddy.com will be be a partner with Hendrick Motorsports and Dale Jr. again this year. You can visit Dale Earnhardt Jr's official website here
Carl Edwards driver of the number 99 Office Depot Ford. Carl Edwards is sponsored by Aflac. Carl Edwards previously has not done well at the Daytona 500. Coming off a 2nd place in points from last years cup, this may be Carl's year to shine. Fans would not be surprise if Carl Edwards and Roush dominate the Daytona 500 this year.
Carl Edwards finished 2nd in point in the Nascar Nextel Cup Championship in 2008. Carl Edwards is with Jack Roush racing. Bob Osborne is Carl Edwards crew Chief. You can visit Carl Edwards website here
This year I predict Jimmie Johnson will win the Daytona 500. He ended the 2008 season on a high note and will start 2009 the same way. Dale Earnhardt Jr. will do very well this year. Dale Jr. preformed much better at Hendrick than he did in the previous few year at DEI. Carl Edwards has something to prove this year at the Daytona 500. Expect fierce completion from him.
