The plot leaves quite a bit of questions as they do not fill lots of holes in. What you know is that the infection occurs from scorpions. They bite someone and get inside them which cause the person to die then become a zombie Very fast. It is nothing like your Dawn of the dead movies where it may take awhile for the person to reanimate. They scorpions are radioactive and being worked on in Cambodia. Some military scientists are there experimenting with the scorpions.
Lt. Bobby Quinn (Cain) is killed along with the rest of his team on a mission and find what is left of some scientists and soldiers. While looking around they are then attacked and some of the group is eaten. Quinn and his team are thought to be dead. Quinn wakes up during his autopsy and begins to play the hero role. The rest of the team are zombies and hunger for raw flesh. Lt. Quinn is able to resist the urge to eat people by eating raw meat. He will turn like the others though if he does not get some raw flesh. He even tries to eat his girlfriend (not in a romantic way) when he is deprived of raw meat for a bit.
Another plot to this is that there is a scientist type who wants to use the mutated gene in order to cash in by finding the fountain of youth. They even feed a friend of his to a former member of his team. Like Romero Zombies they can be killed by a shot to the head and a bite causes the victim to become a zombie.
Overall the movie is decent. I would watch it on TV or buy it if you are a Dean Cain fan or zombie flick fan. If you are someone who just occasionally watches horror movies this may disappoint. The acting is not that good accept for Cain and his love interests. I will say that the make up and gore are pretty decent, but I did prefer lots of other zombie flicks more. I think there is a lot that could be done with the storyline of this. It was a good plot and idea once you sift through what the plot is.
