Dead Inside

Lisa R. Strong
Nothing has changed;
Always the same;

Work, home, sleep;

Old photographs faded with time;
The bright smile of youth;
Unknowing of what the future would hold;
Peering into the wee hours of morning;
To a warm bed I hide;
Head beneath the covers;
Just want to sleep;
Dreamless, peaceful, bliss
