Benjamin Franklin shared, "In this world nothing is certain but death and taxes."
While death may be the greatest force in the world apart from God's Glory, there are those who choose to believe a lie and not believe in God. Just like filing your income tax, there is a deadline for accepting the love of God and believing that He sent His Son on your behalf.
Many people choose not to believe in God. But why would they not believe He exists? Perhaps at the core of the matter is the fact that if you do believe in something than there are consequences. While choosing not to believe in God deceives many to believe that they can live a life of their own choosing without repercussion.
For example, if you believe it is going to rain then you would carry an umbrella or bring along a rain jacket. If you believed that the concert would engage record attendance then you would arrive early to avoid the crowds. If you believe in God then you embrace the Truth and realize that obeying His Word will result in an abundant life and an eternal one.
Many choose not to believe in the God of the Bible because it would mean obeying His teachings, His instructions and His path to eternal life through faith in His Son, Jesus.
Choosing to not believe in God allows many to live as they please and believe that there are no consequences. But the reality is that if we fail to file our taxes on time, there are consequences. The wrath of the IRS will seek you out and you will pay the piper with penalties.
Are you worshiping created things instead of the Creator? Exchange the dead lie for the Truth before death reigns in your deadline.
"They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen." Romans 1:25 NLT
Speaking of deadlines, the deadline to file your taxes this year is April 17, 2012 because April 15 falls on a Sunday and April 16 is Emancipation Day.

Post a CommentWhat a beautiful comment on my article about the husband and wife at the VA hospital you left today. Thanks:)
Good work:)
Returned to this one. Truer words were never spoken. Again, some of your best work.
I read a sad book about a minister who felt so bad because one person kept delaying accepting God's love and died too soon to change his mind. Good article:)
Nice to see you are still active here!
I like the way you sandwiched this article between the death and taxes quote and the tax deadline. Very good beginning, very good ending, with good "meat" in the middle. :-) It was delicious. Thanks.
Nice work.
