Around 7:45 PM (EST) the New Bedford Airport tower notified the local fire department that a small plane went off radar. After an exhaustive search by local officials of the wooded areas surrounding the airport, the single prop commercial plane was found 2 to 3 miles from the New Bedford Municipal Airport in Dartmouth, MA.

The plane was found around 10:00 PM (EST) about 3/4 mile in from Ventura Dr. The plane crashed into a heavily wooded area during poor weather conditions. Local authorities are not releasing the names of the 3 victims that died in the crash, as next of kin have not been notified. However, they did say they found the plane before they located the 3 victims.

The plane was owned by a company located in Pennsylvania, but it is still unknown where the plane took off from. Due to weather conditions, the plane will remain in the woods until tomorrow when it will be moved to a hanger and the FAA will begin there investigation into the crash.
