A healthy body enhances maximum concentration required to perform the daily routine. Poorly attended health leads to diseases which in turn may derail most of our economical targets. All our body parts need equal attention. However despite being overworked some body parts like the feet are least attended to; we depend on them in transacting most of the day activities.

The feet are prone to bacteria invasion which leads to irritating pungent smell. It may be as a result walking barefoot on damp places, using same socks for long period of time or due to intense heat experienced in some months of the year. It is alarming that many people give less care to the feet problems.

According to beauticians and dermatologists, just like the face, feet need the same care. It should be a routine to spruce up and refresh the feet after any task. Relaxation process can be effected by dipping your a feet in a foot bath containing lukewarm water with few drops of bathing gel and cucumber slices. The process should take utmost 10 minutes followed by a rinse in cold water.

Proper attention should be taken on the length of the nail. Trimming should be done after every two weeks; it will help in reduction of bacteria which hides in long nails. Long nails are not only scary but can cause discomfort when one puts on closed shoes. Imagine a situation where you are going to bed with a lover. On removing the shoes, a good date is likely to be spoilt by smelly feet. "Smelly feet are a turn off, absolute embarrassment" notes Angie whose boyfriend has an athlete's foot.

According to experts, feet smell when there is contact between the feet perspiration and bacteria that survives in shoes and socks. Since the bacteria thrives in places with excess moisture, it automatically leads to rapid multiplication and hence an intense odor. With precautions like washing the feet in warm water with mild soap, you can greatly reduce the chance of smelly feet.

It is understandable that the disorder is also inherited condition. Other causes include high alcohol consumption, heightened stress, hormonal changes and reaction to some medication. To avoid smelly feet ensure that you change your socks and shoes daily, dry in between your toes, allow your feet 24 hours to air out or seek medical attention if affected already. In case of sweaty feet, soak in a solution of tea leaves and vinegar for about 15 minutes.
