Dealing with Chronic Burning or Gnawing Stomach Pain

5 Personal Home Remedies that Can Help You

Robenson Louis
One of my cousins had suffered from chronic or gnawing stomach pain for days. Friends told us that he had gastric ulcers, which were some kind of peptic ulcers that occurred in his stomach. He used to feel pain 45 to 65 minutes after finishing a meal. Sometimes the pain awakened him between 1:30 and 3:00 in the morning. We were five in the house, yet we seemed to be powerless. We did not know how to deal with this situation until my grandmother came to rescue my cousin with natural remedies which become my personal home remedies. From what she told us, my cousin had suffered from peptic ulcers because he probably ate wrong food or too much food. Severe nervous or mental stress could be also the causes. Now, how would you know you have peptic ulcers? Whatever the causes might be, the symptoms could be the following: heartburn, chocking sensation, empty stomach, itching, headache, vomiting, or lower-back pain. If you feel one of these symptoms, here what you can do:

1. Try lemon juice

Drink a table-spoon of lemon juice. It can help you test your stomach acid. If, for instance, your case becomes worsen, you probably have an over acid stomach. In my cousin's case, the pain had disappeared, meaning he did not have enough hydrochloric acid. Hence he has been advised to drink a large glass of water.

2. Your diet is very important

Remember to include potatoes, dark green leafy vegetables, squash, yams in your diet. At the same time, do not put yourself in a position to be stressed, anger, or have fear. Avoid salt, sugar, medicinal drugs or antacids.

3. Chewing food properly and exercise

My cousin was always in rush when he was eating. As result, he never had time to chew his foods properly. This bad habit had lot do with his gnawing stomach pain. Indeed, chewing food slowly and exercising would be good for your health.

4. Bananas can help

Bananas would be an effective way to neutralize the extreme-acidity and decrease the effect of the ulcer. In order to get result, eat 2 bananas with a glass of milk 3 to 4 times a day.

5. Your stomach needs herbs

Your stomach needs herbs to function properly. My grandmother used an herbal formulas found in "Natural Remedies Encyclopedia, p. 355", an extraordinary book wrote by Vance Ferrell and Harold M. Cherne. She mixed 3 grams wormwood, 2 grams peppermint, 1 gram garden sage. She steeped in 1 cup boiled water, strain, cool, and gave to my cousin 1 tsp. in water ½ hour before meal. The next day she Mixed ¾ tsp. European centaury, ½ tsp. buckbean, and ¼ tsp. juniper berries. She infused them in 1 pint water; my cousin took 1 tsp. in water ½ hour before meals."
