One source of embarrassment for some are their teeth. If you don't have straight and white teeth, some don't have the confidence to smile completely hiding their teeth each time. This is problematic as it can eventually hurt your own personal self image. If you have teeth that are dark or yellow, you probably want to get them whiter quickly to bring back some of that confidence that you might have lost. There are many techniques that you should be using.

Make sure your normal cleaning routine meets up to the standard. Brush after every meal if you can but at least a few times a day. Floss at least once or more each day as this is best. Talk to your dentist about the tips for your mouth and what should be cleaned a bit better.

Sometimes food or habits are a source of the dark stains on teeth. If you smoke or chew, your teeth are not going to look white at all. Get rid of those habits for a healthier mouth. Some people drink too many sodas or coffee. Overtime, this does darken the teeth. Drink less of these products are try drinking them with a straw where it's not coming in contact with the teeth as much.

Teeth whitening products do work. Be careful about your expectations are as you don't instantly get a very bright and white smile quickly. Start off simple with the things like toothpaste that helps give you a whiter smile. Over a few months, you should notice an improvement. Take pictures if you don't think you are getting progress as it's likely you are.

If you need even more whitening the strips are another option. These are a bit more expensive and time consuming but are more effective than the toothpastes. You have to use these for a number of months for the effect to really be seen.

After doing all these steps over time, you should notice that your teeth will appear brighter and whiter than before.
