Dealing with Difficult People During the Holiday Season

Dealing with Anal People During the Holiday Season

Mike Hazelwood
The Jeckel and Hyde syndrome is seen infiltrating and insatiably copulating with normality everywhere this time of year. Ravenously we see the birthing of its mean and malicious face through otherwise ordinary people during the holiday season. The full moon turns crimson and the unholy howl of difficult people we hear approaching in the direction of us. The undead of the joyous holiday season creep out of their chasms to cause kayos and raise hell with everyone in their way.

During this time of year, when stress levels are running high people seem to transform inexplicably in front of your face. The lovable and contented little old lady, who oddly reminds you of your grandmother, seemingly starts to grow fangs when you politely explain to her that you do not have a product wanted as a gift for her grandson. The pleasant young lady, who has astounding radiance any other time of the year, outwardly grows a huge pointy nose with warts, when you do not have a toolbox she desires for her boyfriend. It is so bizarre and frightening to see how the atmosphere of the holiday season distorts and discombobulates the psyche of even the friendliest individual any other time of the year.

Stay calm-When dealing with the asinine and difficult person, who is up in your face ranting and raving, try to stay calm. Dealing with people on daily basis, I have found this straightforward gesture will calm the majority of savage beast in a stressful situation. If the person jumps out to strangle you, grab your cell phone and call 911 as soon as possible.

Keep a positive attitude-During those stressful days, when every person you meet is Anal Retentive; try to keep a positive attitude. I have learned throughout ten years of successful sales experience, that keeping a positive attitude will take you far when dealing with a difficult person. Remember the difficult person is not aggravated by you, but they are often annoyed at the situation. However, beware of the customer whose fangs are still dripping with blood from the other sales person they excessively dealt with, and silently prepare to scamper off in an emergency.

Try to solve the situation-By taking each day as learning experience, I have found when I do try to be of assistance, when dealing with a problem situation, the difficult customer appreciates the gesture. Honestly, during this time of year, we cannot solve all problems this way, but the secret to success in dealing with the difficult customer is to try. If this does not work, you might have to break out the silver bullet or a wooden stake.

Try not to take your work home with you-One of the unsurpassed ways we can learn to deal with problems and demanding situation is by leaving our work at home. When we do come home carrying our work on our shoulders, we become the difficult person during the holiday season in the midst of our family and friends. Please take note if you wake up in the middle of the night lying in the middle of a field naked and confused; seek assistance immediately from a priest!

Remember New Years is just around the corner-During these times when people would rather run you over then go around you, remember the New Year is just around the corner. When the ball drops, and the hellish season comes to an end, the fangs and attitudes of the difficult people will strangely dissipate and go back to normal. Thank God, the holidays and the Jeckel and Hyde Syndrome can only be caught come once per year.
