My answer to this is no. Humans in essence are bi-polar and experience a wide variety of feelings and thoughts and to try and eliminate one in favor of another is simply to deny who we are. Feelings are what make us human and makes life worth living. Pain is part of what makes us alive and we should throw who we are into a darkened shadow.
If life were perfect as many see it with no suffering and we were always nice to everyone and always happy would it really be worth living? Everyone of us has a beast or demon inside of us and if we don't let it out at times then we don't feel truly alive because we always have this part of us buried inside that we feel it's wrong to have. Perhaps a lot of how people think we should has been evolved out of religions telling us what we should and shouldn't do, but in the case of Christianity and assuming that god is real I feel that if Jesus died for us on the cross so we can live then we need to enjoy it to the fullest.
Anger can be a consuming emotion that wipes everything else away and in a way it can be enjoyable at times though anyone who only feels anger is just afraid to feel anything else and the same I think can be said for someone who is always happy or always depressed. If you have ever wanted to wallow in depression or let yourself be consumed by anger or even love then you should know what I mean. True emotions are like an adrenaline rush or a chemical high. We are bi-polar so ought we not let ourselves be that way?
To further express this if you say you have never wanted to hurt someone that is a lie. If you say you have never wanted to help someone or cared about someone even just one person that's most likely a lie. Sometimes we want to kill someone and cause destruction and other times we want to bring world peace and make everyone happy. I believe that no one is good or bad and what's good is just an opinion. What some see as sinful and disgusting another may find amazing and beautiful. For example I feel if a book doesn't reach enough emotion to make you cry it's not worth reading where as someone I know doesn't like the books she reads to make her cry. We can feel anything so why deprive our selves the ability to?
