J. Matthison
Pregnancy is an incredibly happy affair. The idea that a new life is forming within your womb is an overwhelming feeling indeed. Unfortunately, another overwhelming feeling that pregnancy brings comes in the form of nausea and in some occasion, periods of vomiting.

Although not all women experience the pains of "Morning Sickness", studies have shown that approximately 50% of pregnant women experience nausea and vomiting around the 6th week of pregnancy. These nausea attacks tend to be worst in the morning, which is why it has been dubbed "Morning Sickness". Luckily this feeling does not last for the entire pregnancy and has been known to disappear right along the 4th month of pregnancy.

Dealing with morning sickness is not an easy feat. There are many known treatments for morning sickness, but the fact is, not every treatment will work. There are even some cases, wherein it seems that nothing seems to work!

Many women will attest to the fact that the best strategy in dealing with the bittersweet experience of Morning Sickness is to try several treatments until you have found the one that is right for you. But before you start following every tip we have for you, you need to have a go signal from your physician! Remember, your body is not your own anymore and a few minutes of comfort from nausea is not worth it if the baby will be affected in some way.

Eat, Eat, Eat!

Whenever we are overcome with nausea and vomiting, the first instinct that comes to us is to stop eating. Right decision? NO. There are times when feeling sick is actually your body's way of telling you that you are hungry. Eat small, frequent snacks within a day. This will not only keep you from overeating, it will also help boost your energy levels.

Avoid what makes you sick

Pregnancy often brings the best and worst out of a women's senses so that simple things can trigger a nausea attack right away. Be aware of the things that trigger your senses negatively and try to avoid them at all costs. Talk to your husband or the people at home and ask for their assistance with this. This is extremely appropriate especially if the trigger is caused by someone you are living with.

Take it easy!

You have to realize that your body is no longer the way it was before and the things that you normally do can now be extremely stressful for your body. Allow yourself to slow down during this period of your life. It will keep you from getting stressed easily and may actually prove to be an enlightening experience as well. Take your time in getting up from bed each morning or nap when you get the chance.

Stack up with Carbs and Protein

Studies have shown that food rich in carbohydrates and protein can help you in your fight against nausea. Eat fresh fruits, vegetables and CARB ridden food like bread, rice, baked potato or crackers. Avoid fatty food as this will not only kill your already growing figure, but also aggravate the nausea you feel.

Morning sickness is one of the hardest things to deal with during pregnancy, but it is your body's way of waking you up to reality. It's one way for life to tell you that no one said it's going to be easy, but everything will be worth it in the end.
