DeAnna Pappas Pulls Off Bachelorette Shocker Sending Jeremy Home

The Front Runner for DeAnna's Heart was Eliminated

Jason stood there at the rose ceremony. Jesse had already been given a rose. So that left just Jason and Jeremy.
The single father appeared to be almost ready to cry in anticipation that he would be the one not handed the rose by DeAnna Pappas.
That's because he was up against the guy who had led the battle for her affections the entire show in Jeremy.
But that's when it happened! A Bachelorette shocker! DeAnna chose Jason.

That left Jeremy in absolute shock. The two had just spent the night together. DeAnna constantly referred to Jeremy as perfect. Both had lost either one or both of their parents early in life. They had some bonds that the others didn't have. So where was the downfall?
I think his overall seriousness hurt the chances of a relationship. In comparison with Jesse and Jason who made her laugh constantly in their final dates, Jeremy just seemed to always keep it very intense. The two didn't laugh as much as the others. And when it was time for Jeremy and DeAnna's final date, Jeremy acted a little scared and hesitant. Maybe that threw DeAnna off. But who could blame Jeremy for being so intense? He was obviously head over heels in love with the girl. And she expects him to be calm when a rose ceremony is on the horizon?

I think her expectations have been a little hypocritical. While I am sure it's not easy to be in that position, she keeps asking repeatedly for the guys to open up. But unless the editors are leaving out crucial scenes, it doesn't seem that DeAnna is opening up that much either. Unless you call making out with a bunch of the guys opening up. In that case, she has been very receptive.
But which Bachelor or Bachelorette really hasn't?

So that leaves Jason and Jesse to win her heart on the Bachelorette Finale. The odds are very close for these two. Because if DeAnna sticks with what she has been saying, the two are continuing each and every episode to grow on her. She keeps saying that Jesse has surprised her completely. Jesse has taken it slower than Jason in terms of opening up. Maybe if he makes that final push it will be more dramatic than Jason since he has already confessed his love.

DeAnna acts extremely confident that Jason is and will be a good father. That impresses a lot of people and I think DeAnna can definitely see a future with him.
But is she ready to already be a mother? That's a bit of a different question. DeAnna doesn't seem to have the chemistry with either Jason or Jesse that she had with Graham. I think if she were really falling in love with Graham then maybe she would have made more of an effort to help him through his fear of getting close. She keeps saying that she doesn't want to be left standing alone in the final rose ceremony. But isn't it unfair to constantly refer to a past relationship, whether it's on television or not, to a current one? I am sure we all do that at some point but the two relationships are completely different.

Looking back at who DeAnna has chosen in her final 2, it now makes little if any sense that she would even have wanted to be with Brad. It just doesn't seem like her type it all. Which goes to show you that people on the reality television show get so caught up in the moment that they tend to lose perspective in what they want and trying to grab what everybody else wants. It seems far fetched that every single top 5 candidate on the show this year was that in love with DeAnna. Meaning DeAnna was the right person for that many people? That seems a little ridiculous to me. But I am sure if you are there in the moment and everyone is fighting for one person then the stakes go up and the emotions are catapulted into high gear.

On a different note, I think the finalists are all good guys. I think DeAnna chose the people American wanted to see in the final 2. You have Jason, the sentimental favorite because he's the "aw shucks, isn't he a swell father kind of guy." And I think he really is. Not to mention he has the cutest little "mini-me" kid you'll ever see.
Then you have Jesse. Who is not just a "cool surfer turned snowboarder dude" but also a very sincere person and someone everyone can relate to.
He's got one of the best jobs in the world right now and his laid back attitude really fits with DeAnna's personality.
The bottom line in a close contest between two people might be the fact that Jason has already started to create his family. I wouldn't exactly consider him "damaged goods" but he's definitely been there and done that compared to DeAnna. I think DeAnna wants her own unique relationship with a person.

So that brings us to this weeks' Bachelorette Odds. I'll put Jesse at 2-1 and Jason at 3-1. At this point in the show, it's been closer than any other show in the past. I usually had a gut feeling which way it would go but I have no such feelings this time around. I just go with the fact that Jason having a kid in the long run will provide enough of a reason for DeAnna not to choose him in such a close battle. I think she may be more attracted to Jason on a physical level but Jesse has won her over from an emotional standpoint. He seems to cling to her and she seems to really need that from a relationship. In every show this year, Jesse somehow always managed to get next to DeAnna. He won the pushup contest much to her surprise when there were people with bigger biceps.

If The Bachelorette is a competition about winning someones heart then I think Jesse has done more of that than Jason. He's always seemed to manage to be in the right place at the right time and I think that's another reason DeAnna will choose him over Jason in the finale. But who really knows what DeAnna is thinking at this point? It's a little bit of a crapshoot since she already eliminated the two guys she thought she was in love with. Her criteria is her's and I am not completely sure she has opened up enough to let us know what she wants. My guess is she's finding out along the way what she wants and Jesse has been the person to prove her wrong and push her in that direction. I think it's safe to say that Jason would make a heck of a Bachelor for next season if he finishes runnerup.

Jeremy always seemed stiff and contrived to me. I'm a huge Jesse fan so I think she made the right choice. We'll see tonight!
