Dear Earthlings,

A Forwarded Message from Out There

David A. Reinstein, LCSW
Dear Earthlings,

I bid you greetings on behalf of the IFIB (Intergalactic Federation of Intelligent Beings.) After a thorough search through our fourteen dimension information retrieval engine (KOOGLE, or as those beings who are part of an ancient Diaspora refers to it as, KUGEL) I have been asked to contact you directly through a signal identified variously as Associated Content and as the YAHOO Distributor Network which will come into being in time to receive this communication.

David Reinstein, LCSW and others have been selected as the individual through whom this communication will be specifically directed with a request to forward it on to his readers.

Our KOOGLE includes, of course, the capacity to search, index and classify things and beings which have not yet come into existence at the time of the search. As I write this, human beings, as you will call yourselves, have not yet developed in a form that you would now recognize and being bio-genetic kindred.

This communication originated, by your common reckoning of time, in the year 1,791,652,267 BC. Although the signal has traveled quickly, we are unsure when you will receive this. We expect it will be somewhere in the early part of what many of you will refer to as the twenty-first century. You do not yet exists but we know you shall. Whether or not you will figure out what it takes to sustain your own existence is, however, quite another matter and is the subject of this communication.

If you are still with me after that brief, attemptedly succinct yet admittedly admittedly odd sounding introduction, I implore you to regard the balance of this too-old-to-be-urgent but too-current-to-be-irrelevant communication with your most open and non-defensive attention.

We wish you well in your somehow compromised quest to survive as a species and hope that by the time this message reaches you that some of you are still there to receive and comprehend it.

In the future we have researched, we see that the species you call Homo Sapiens are bio-genetically slated to become the dominant life form on your planet for an uncertain period of time. Should this reach whatever sentient variety of that species has remained, we hope that our few words of caution will be heeded.

These few tips may be of use to you in enhancing the likelihood that the human species will continue to endure on that lovely, blue orb you call Earth. It is understood that some or perhaps all of the following will sound odd or even outright wring to you. Please take a moment to consider them anyway.

1. No resource is eternally renewable.

2. Dominant life forms change on all worlds and any presumption of permanence is incorrect and reflects merely the nature or subjective perception.

3. Every single thing as a microcosm of things not understood and much larger and, concurrently, a macrocosm of things to small no be noticed or measured.

4. Generally speaking, worlds survive. It is specific species that are able to place themselves in jeopardy.

5. Belief has little or no impact on physical reality, but has incredibly powerful influence over the way that sentient beings perceive it.

6. How that which you designate as "life" began is less important than learning how to best care for and value it in the here and now.

And finally,

6. You may feel alone, as individual beings or, in the collective, as life forms. However, you are not. Separated by unimaginably vast quantities of both space and time does not render any of us alone, but only sometimes unknown to each other.

By the time you read this, I and my kind and quite possibly my world will have passed into a new form or into the deep dark nothingness that occupies most of space. Even so, I hope the timing such that this information is of some value to you at this time in your own continuing evolution as a species.

Wishing you well in your todays and tomorrows,
On behalf of the IFIB I am sincerely yours,

Whatever You Wish to Call Me
