Dear President Obama: I Voted for You ... Now What?

When Barack Obama announced his candidacy, my first gut reaction was, "You have got to be kidding me." My husband, a lifelong Republican, sat back in his chair and said, "Republican or not, this guy could go all the way to the White House."

When Obama won, I was ecstatic. Not only had history been made, America may really have a chance with the attitude this guy has. Or so we thought!

Now it is March. As the TV gears up daily to spout all the happenings, AIG just got more bonuses. Chris Dodd comes out and claims partial responsibility and I read earlier that Timothy Geitner was actually the one who had them water down the deals for bonuses. Isn't this the same clown that just got put into his position after NOT paying his taxes?

Ok, we trusted you enough to stand in lines, change party affiliations, and take much abuse about electing an African-American President. Of course, the other choice was John McCain. Even Republicans weren't ready to wholeheartedly support him.
But we rallied and you are the President. Now what?

Are you going to allow politics as usual? Even with the fast, no holes barred actions you have already initiated, you are sinking fast with the AIG Bonus Scam. You are employing people who are not holding up to scrutiny. Timothy Geithner has already failed you and America.He has stood up for the Big Corporations once again. Once again, America is getting the shaft. Yet you insisted he could handle the job.

Mr. President, America is mad as hell and I don't think they are going to take this crap anymore. I think, just as with AIG employees being fearful of harm, the Government might rethink their actions. We could be in for a new revolution in this country.

This is crunch time Mr. President. This is the 4th quarter and we are coming up on the two minute warning. Are you going to stand up to the challenge, President Obama?

Where are you really taking America? Are you truly concerned? If so, why are you dropping the ball? Will the Bailout really work?

All of these questions are the things American's wake up to each and everyday. The Americans who get up every morning and go to a real job. Not a job that they get paid outrageous amounts of money to do absolutely nothing, sort of like AIG and Congress.

As I look at my tool and die maker husband's unemployment check sir, I hesitate to comment. A man who has worked for over 30 years, lost his job recently. He can't find another one locally, where we just bought a house last year. Yet, AIG employees who may or may not have worked for two or more years, just walked away with enough money for my husband and I to retire.

Your administration let it happen. Why? The man that YOU stood in front of America and said, HE will take care of this economic crisis, has turned around and back stabbed America. He has spit in YOUR face and OURS.

Yet, you are his BOSS.

You have made history sir. America has put aside their crappy, racists attitudes, their disbelief in CHANGE in our Government, and their mistrust of anyone but themselves to take a chance that there may actually be ONE PERSON that truly is honest and concerned about the rest of America.

Now, this mess is happening.

A mess that makes all of those ideals go straight out the window. A mess that if you don't clean it up and get this right will cost America more than faith.It also gives the nay sayers more ammunition to continue to tear America apart. The Republicans will sink America to prove you wrong.

Mr. President, as a previous Republican and more important, an American who loves her country and proudly tries to support it from A-Z, I beg you to get this right. Not only will the backlash be felt among the up and coming African American young people, but it will be a killer among your millions of supporters.

The responsibility you bear, is greater than any President before you. I pray that you see that and that you will do what you have said. No more sneaking secret agendas in on bills. No more letting this clown Geithner do what he wants. Truly, he should be fired for this AIG thing. No more bad decisions and lack of honesty and transparency. No more Nancy Pelosi type screwups.

America is weary of War, Big Corporations, Bad Government and Screwups. They are tired of Wall Street and it Speculators, losses on 401K's, jobs going out of the country and everything else that I have failed to name. America is just plain tired, Mr. President.
