Dearborn, Michigan Bartz Bakery: Best Location for Sweet Treats
In Business Since 1948, Bartz Bakery Continues to Draw Customers from Miles Away
Dearborn, MI 48127
United States of America
Bartz Buttercream Icing is one thing that continues to bring me back to their bakery. The creamy rich texture of the icing is outstanding and tastes better than other local bakery renditions. If you ever find yourself in a bind and need last minute cupcakes for your child's classroom party, Bartz always has a selection of chocolate and yellow batter cupcakes available for purchase. Priced at only $5.00 a dozen, these cupcakes couldn't be made at home for much less when you figure in your time. Even better, plan ahead and order your cupcakes or birthday cakes decorated to your specifications, Bartz will take your order and have it ready for you when you arrive to pick it up.
Bartz customers come from many places outside of the Dearborn city limits. On my last visit, I actually spoke to a customer who had driven from Toledo, Ohio to purchase her bread and sweets for a family member's birthday party she was hosting. This customer told me that she, like me, had not been able to find another bakery she liked as much as Bartz. She stated that her family loved the buttercream icing and especially loved the Bartz Bumpy Cake and cupcakes. The Bartz Bumpy Cake, is the bakery's version of the old time Michigan resident's favorite, the Sander's Bumpy Cake. A bumpy cake consists of a devil's food cake batter topped with a generous helping of buttercream icing, a chocolate coating is then poured over the buttercream to coat the cake. The Sander's Bumpy Cake was a regional favorite dessert and, since the original Sander's Ice Cream Parlors went out of business, it has been sorely missed. The Bartz version of this treat, although not the same, is a great replacement for those who loved the old Sander's recipe.
The Dearborn bakery also has many other sweet treats to offer. The many choices include cannoli, cream puffs, pies, kolachy, angel wings, French horns, tarts, shortcakes and an endless variety of cookies.
If you are looking for a place to purchase a cake for an upcoming birthday party or simply would like to purchase some fresh baked breads; Bartz Bakery is worth an extra few miles drive. The prices are reasonable and you'll never be disappointed with your purchase.

Post a CommentPlaced a special order for a cake, and when cutting the cake, the cake batter was not as ordered. A disappointment because it was a special birthday cake. The next day I returned the cake to the Bartz Bakery, (normally I would not, but this is the second time they messed up an order for me). I asked if I could have a new cake made, with the batter flavor requested, and was told "No" Their chocolate bumpy cake is always mae with chocolate batter so why it was made as it was, even though I ordered it with yellow batter. I was told I could buy another cake, at a discounted price. I was then requested a full refund on the cake. Which I was given. I will no longer buy from Bartz. Very poor attitude and customer service in this experience.
