Dearborn, Michigan's Bob Evan's Restaurant: A Home Cooked Meal Away from Home

Lisa Marie
On a recent hot and humid Sunday afternoon in Michigan my mother and I decided to visit Bob Evan's restaurant in Dearborn, Michigan.

We were greeted by a hostess approximately three minutes after entering the restaurant as there was another party in front of us that included an infant and a toddler who required a high chair. After being seated we were promptly greeted by our server who took our drink order.

Upon delivering our drinks to the table the server then took our food order. I chose to order the Chicken-N-Noodles Deep Dish Dinner for the low price of $5.99. I also ordered a side salad to precede my meal. My mother chose to order the Slow Roasted Chicken Pot Pie from the senior menu which was also priced at $5.99.

The Chicken-N-Noodles Deep Dish Dinner was wonderful and very filling. The Chicken-N-Noodles are served in a gravy over a heaping serving of mashed potatoes which is served on top of a freshly baked buttermilk biscuit. My salad was delivered within five minutes of having placed the order and my mother and I were both brought a roll to snack on before our entree arrived.

The Slow Roasted Chicken Pot Pie is made with slow roasted chicken, sweet carrots, baby peas, celery, and onions in a creamy rich sauce with a flaky crust baked over the top of the dish that the pie is served in. Both entrees were served hot.

During our meal our server made sure that our drinks were refilled and that we were enjoying our food. I truly enjoyed mine, enough that I finished the entire thing!

This was probably the best thing that I have ever ordered at a Bob Evan's restaurant and this was close to the best service I have at one as well. I will be sure to visit this location again and order the same item from the menu as well. Maybe the next time I visit Bob Evan's it will be on a day when it isn't as hot or humid, though the good thing about eating out on a day like that is that I didn't have to cook and heat up my house!
