With this information from the news story, this led me to do a little research about the speculation surrounding his death. Remember now, I was only five years old at the time of his death and to this day this is the first time I have heard about his death even though I am a Stones fan.
Why wasn't his death looked into further since some say he died from mysterious circumstances? Were drugs found in his system? Did he really drowned? What made investigative reporter, Scott Jones, do all the foot work he did to uncover more about Brian Jones?
This inquiring mind wanted to know. After reading Scott Jones lengthy article about the interview he did with Janet Lawson, made me wonder why she didn't come forth before her death to correct her police statement.
The article I just mentioned written by Scott Jones provided an in depth recall of what happened the night Brian Jones died. Here's something that made me wonder. If Janet Lawson was a licensed nurse, why didn't she dive into the pool after Jones and try to revive him? Something about that doesn't set well with me. Was she drinking with the people at Jones' home? Did she panic?
I understand things were different back then when it came to investigations and how investigations are done in different in other countries. I still don't quite understand when the death of Brian Jones was reopened over the years why the Sussex police didn't check further into the details given.
Was the original investigation botched? Did the officers in charge of the case not care?
Has the death of Brian Jones became one of the great unsolved mysteries? How many times since his death has this case been reopened by the police?
Since Janet Lawson was one of the key people in the investigation and has now died, how is her death going to affect the reviewing of Brian Jones death? How are the Sussex police going to handle the reviewing of the case this time with the information Scott Jones has provided them? Since Frank Thorogood has also passed, how is his death going to affect the review of the case?
With two of the three key players reported in the home the night Jones died now dead, is this going to play a key role in how the documents going to be used in reviewing the case.
While the questions I have asked during the course of this article may or may not be relevant, they are ones that came to mind during the course of the research I did.
