Death's Regret

Death Regrets Katrina

M.G. Laskey
If my mind could rewind
I'd go back before your time
to test the boundaries of reality
and reverse your destiny.

From your eyes, from your tears
I'd remove your pain, your fear
And it would be I not you who were slain
It would be my death that is vain

I'd hold you tightly
I would love you mightly
and I would protect you fiercely

To every God would I pray
for your life and for your soul
Fighting to my own demise
to have you to hold.

The horrors of this life
for you would remain unknown,
Your fate having become my own.

Your pain, your fear, your terror,
Take it all I would
To correct deaths regretful error.

Yet, its too little and Im too late
It appears according to "God"
this was your fate.
Error or not
No apology offered
None to take
