DeathSpank is a satirical adventure filled with quests, combat, action - and enjoyable humor in every sequence. Playing as DeathSpank, players must seek out and find "The Artifact" all while solving quests and fighting the bad guys who will always get in the way.
From the game's start it's clear that the experience that is about to be had will be something unlike any other. Created with a cartoony comic book style, 2D art is beautifully integrated with 3D models, all which complement each other fantastically, and are further brought to life with rich color.
Gamers looking for a serious quest for justice may want to look elsewhere. This title is full of one-liners, punch lines, silly situations and much more (even the weapons list receives humorous treatment with a chicken cannon, and a poop hammer - for the Demon Dung Quest of course). The game also allows teleportation throughout the game world, and this is achieved by of course entering the nearest outhouse.
There really isn't ever a dull moment in the game. Lazy townspeople will keep gamers busy as DeathSpank, as he moves from one absurd quest, or more appropriately put - someone's dirty work, to the next task at hand. DeathSpank, however, approaches these quests with honor, as a true hero should - as each brings him closer to true heroism by finding "The Artifact."
Within all of the greatness the game has to offer, gamers will find joy in the title's characterization. If the name DeathSpank isn't silly enough, how about Sparkles the Magician, or the evil Lord Von Prong? Sparkles, a faithful sidekick to Deathspank, joins the game in multiplayer mode, and Lord Von Prong, well, he's the bad guy.
Developed by Hothead, and published by EA, DeathSpank is rated T for Teen and contains Blood, Cartoon Violence, Crude Humor, Mild Language, and Mild Sexual Themes, and is available for the Windows based PC, Macintosh, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
