A couple decades ago, a former boss once asked me which star would I rather be, Debbie Reynolds or Elizabeth Taylor. My response was Debbie Reynolds. He was decidedly unhappy about my response, citing that Elizabeth Taylor was much sexier and alluring to men then Debbie Reynolds. I retorted that I thought I wanted to be Debbie Reynolds because she had a wholesome beauty about her.
Digressing- Some years later this boss, would ask me on the way back from a lunch, where I was awarded a raise for a job well done, "What would you say if I took you to a hotel and we took the rest of the day off to make mad passionate love, hypothetically speaking of course?" "My reply, I'm married and your married and I would say no; hypothetically speaking of course!" That and his teeth grossed me out.
Before I carry on about Debbie Reynolds and Elizabeth Taylor, I'd like to get something else off my chest. And that is whenever I did a particularly good job, my boss would ask me to 'stick out my chest.' And he meant it, quite literally. When I wouldn't play along, he'd encourage me once more, 'awe, come on, and stick out your chest'. Sometimes I did; most of the time I didn't. The times that I did, I thought, if he were asking a man to stick out his chest for a job well done, the man would immediately laugh and do so, thinking nothing of it. (Okay, enough of the digressing about scummy bosses already.)
Debbie Reynolds or Elizabeth Taylor is the question? Eddie Fisher answered the question by divorcing Debbie Reynolds and marrying Elizabeth Taylor. I guess right there I think to myself, you schmuck, but he's dead- so that would be a bad thing to say. Besides I have no way of telling what was going on with Debbie and Eddie at the time.
In fact, I was just a child and too busy playing with fire ants and frogs, though I did watch Eddie Fisher, Debbie Reynolds and Elizabeth Taylor on Television. I have to admit that Elizabeth Taylor had the best rolls and is/was a great actress. Debbie though was a great singer, actress and dancer. I favored the wholesome movies of Debbie Reynolds and I'm not even sure I knew who Eddie Fischer was.
I'm still not sure I know who Eddie Fisher was (just kidding sort of) - and I'm really not sure I care. If this ticks you off so be it. The way I see it -as with all scoundrels he got what he deserved when Elizabeth Taylor dumped him for Richard Burton. May Eddie Fisher Rest in Peace. And may Debbie Reynolds be forever my favorite.

I wouldn't have been hired in the first place because I would have chosen neither. I hate those kinds of questions. They fall into the same category as, "What type of tree would you be." Huh?
& Nancy Tracy, I always wanted to be MaryAnn, lol - and I do remember the question well.
Good work!
hi5, great read. I ♥ Elizabeth Taylor.
I like both, so I'll cop out from answering the question! RIP Eddie.
This reminds me of the Ginger / Mary Anne question, Liz being Ginger, of course. I don't see myself as either, more of a Tina Fey.
