December 14th, 2010 Christmas Television Shows on ABC Family

Jane Vee
I have fallen in love with Christmas this year. There are a lot of Christmas movies to choose from that are not regularly shown at Christmas time. I am a little disappointed with ABC Family not showing the classics when children can watch them. My favorites are The Year Without a Santa Clause and the Miser Brother's Christmas, just because of the songs "...too much".

You may be thinking ABC Family is the only network with Christmas shows. That is not true this year. You should check out Lifetime, Lifetime Movie Network, and do not forget about the Hallmark Channel. The Christmas movies are stacking up waiting for you to find them. Most are for adults only, but there are a few that you could let a tween or teen watch that is bored of animated shows.

Tuesday December 14th is filled with classics on ABC Family. Starting at 6:00 is Dr. Suess's Cat in the Hat. At 6:30 Dr. Suess's Pontoffel Pock comes on. The Grinch is on at 7:00. The classic that is not seen much at any time of the year is Puff the Magic Dragon, which is on at 7:30. If you wait for 8:00 you can see How the Grinch Stole Christmas, which is the new version of the classic Grinch.

The next day that my kids will be watching the Christmas specials besides Tuesday evening will probably be on Saturday the 18th, and Sunday the 19th. ABC Family is showing Rudolph's Shiny New Year and the Year Without a Santa Claus. My poor children will be "Christmased" out by the time Christmas arrives.
