Some Traditional Proposals Are Still Preferred

Many people view the summer as the most popular time to propose to your significant other. In reality though, nothing can be further from the truth. The most popular month for proposals is during the winter chill that grips the country during the month of December. This information is according to an online survey conducted by Steve Elliott Marketing Research. Other findings in the survey included that many traditional wedding proposal expectations still exist today. This information was according to a recent press release from Robbins Brothers.

Wedding proposals are much more important that some might think they are according to the women who participated in the survey. 25 percent of the women surveyed indicated they actually consider the proposal more important than the wedding itself. This means that guys out there should take notice of this article about what is expected in wedding proposals. If you guys wait too long to propose, these days you might be the one that is proposed to as 37 percent of the women in the survey indicated they would consider proposing to their significant other.

Many traditional proposal practices are still used today. The majority of men surveyed indicated they would still ask the father of the bride for permission to propose to his daughter. The survey also indicated that both the majority of men and women surveyed indicated they feel that getting on one knee is the best way to propose. If you are trying to find out how to propose and where, you aren't alone. 38 percent in the survey indicated they would ask friends and family for advice on how to propose.

Guys, keep in mind that the ring is considered to be more important than the proposal location according to the majority of the women surveyed. They would prefer that their future husband spend more money on the ring and not worry about spending a lot of money on where to make the proposal. Many women in the survey indicated an inexpensive location like a local park would be perfectly fine for them and an expensive trip for the proposal is not necessary. Some would prefer a public display though, as 33 percent of those surveyed indicated they would not mind having their proposal broadcast to the entire world.

There is good news ladies, despite the increase of social networking websites on the internet, all of the men surveyed agreed that proposing over the internet was not a good idea.
