December Winds

Mike Powers
December winds and skies of gray
Chill this crisp New England day.
Autumn's colors faded to brown;
Leaves, once brilliant, litter the ground.
Earth now sleeps in wint'ry array.

Pale yellow sunshine lights our way
But does not warm this frosty day.
Late afternoon, as sun goes down...
December winds.

Winter solstice and shortest day;
Coldest season now come to stay.
On the dark streets of our small town
And through the forests... hear the sound:
December winds.

    A feel of something is in the air, the cold cold breath of December.

    Such a master words-craftsman you are my friend. And a sterling photographer too. What a gift you have that I wish I had 1/100th of. :-)

    Very nice Mike. It's been cold and snowy here. Looking forward to longer days and warmer weather.
