Our economy has gone from prosperity and growth to extreme desperation and fear. What was once a proud, strong country has become a country that is one step closer to the One World Government we have been told would happen someday.
On Monday the World Leaders of the G7 and G12 countries will make a decision to begin a World Partnership in banking and financial systems. They will decide if they are going to join forces to stop and reverse the economic meltdown that has rippled across the World. The alternative is failure across the board.
This is a crisis that may put us one step closer to that "End of Days" theory that is appearing to be much more than a theory.
America is in crisis and no matter who you blame, it will continue to be in crisis for sometime to come. George Bush and the Government that let us down and put us in this position should hang their collective heads in shame and just walk away. They have let their "greed" and "power-hungry" souls lead America down a road that will at best be an uphill climb to get back to level ground. Our Government has betrayed it citizens while looking us in the eye.
Yet, America's hope is sitting in the form of a "New" President and a "New" Vice President. They are standing in the wings hoping that America will choose them.
We have only two choices and one chance to get it right. If America does not make the right decision this time, the World may count us out of the influential position we have had for so long. America the "Super Power" is fast becoming America the Greedy and America the Irresponsible. Our economy could tank to the levels of the "Great Depression". Across the country, families are on the verge of living in the streets. Healthcare in the "Greatest Country on Earth" is non existent for millions of kids and adults.
How will you choose? What is the reason for your decision?
When we make our choice for the highest position in the land, we should bear in mind the abilities of our choices. We cannot pick another leader based on HIS/HER attempt to sway us either way. The decision has to be based on the actual words and deeds that are being laid before us non stop, every single day.
The questions you need to ask yourself before you choose a team to vote for is:
Is the Leader I want to win being honest? Are they looking us in the eye and telling us the truth? Are they showing us the "real" heart and soul of their desire to lead by facing the bad and telling us facts vs fiction? Are they showing us the moral character that is the true sign of a leader?
Are these two people a "team" that will work together to make America work together? Do they share the same ideals as you do for putting our country back together again?
In their speeches, interviews, and other opportunities to speak to America, have they used that time to tell us their hopes, dreams and plans for America and its citizens? Have they focused on the economy, health care, Iraq, jobs, homes, savings and Social Security? Have they given you hope to believe it will get done?
Do they portray the signs of leadership? Are they calm? Are they in control under pressure? Do they make "snap" decisions or do they use their resources to give us the answers that are well thought out and have the potential for success? Do they become erratic when faced with crisis?
When you realize the responsibility of the Office of President, you have to ask the questions, that are tough but necessary. When you flash back to the last few months and especially the last few weeks, you have to see the contrast of this race. The stark difference between the way the campaigns have handled this race reveal a lot about the potential of these people.
While watching American Morning earlier, the new buzz is how John McCain has "dialed" down his previous rhetoric concerning Barack Obama. John McCain and Sarah Palin started from the beginning with a plan of attack that would unleash the fury of the "Pit Bull Hockey Mom". The fact that she was supposedly tough but fair, strong but compassionate, was supposed to lead us to believe she would be the perfect accompaniment to a "War Hero" maverick.
She was educated by the Republican Good Ole Boys, she was seeking to reform and she was put on the stump to tell us that Barack Obama was a potential threat to National Security and was friends with terrorists. John McCain, in less than 8 weeks has suspended his campaign to do nothing, has told us the economy was ok, then told us it was in crisis. He has told us he was a maverick, then told us he was bipartisan. We heard him give us his partial tax ideas to give more money to big corporations and his ideas to give us money for healthcare that he would tax as income. He has changed his mind on his stance on most every subject that has come up.
When asked about Iraq, he determined we may be there from now on. When asked about Afghanistan, he said we would muddle through. His trusted friend and advisor told us that America was a country of whiners.
Now in the time since he accepted the nomination for President, he has divided this country like we haven't seen since the Civil War. In every speech and every interview, him and Sarah Palin have used the precious moments in front of America to attempt to destroy a man and an ideal for this country through lies and rhetoric. They put Sarah Palin on the stump to incite people to believe the nonsense that Americans' are so stupid they would elect a potential terrorists.
I guess the belief at the time of conception of this line of attack was that people will think that and associate it with 9/11. There is no harm in that thinking huh? Then you combine that piece of info with the fact, Obama has a different name. Along with that you add the fact that he is a "Black" man. I guess if you are a white person who has never lived through the "civil rights" movement or have not lived with or around African American folks, you are not educated in the struggles they have faced. Sarah Palin and John McCain were ignorant of the struggles these Americans face on a daily basis.
What have been the results of this plan, this election strategy? To answer that all you have to do is turn on the TV.
John McCain and Sarah Palin have created a monster. They have brought out the darkest and most horrendous character in America. They have unleashed the racists. The people whose ancestors were still standing in the fields of the Civil War fighting after the War was over. Still rejecting blacks and their rights to be human beings.
Rally after rally we have heard Sarah call Barack a potential "Terrorist" without the concern of a backlash. People have walked into rallies holding monkeys and making racist's remarks about him. Students in Oregon hung a cardboard cutout of Obama by the neck on a tree.
Is inciting people to riot and to violence a sign of a "Good President"? Now in the last several days, they have been confronted by the ignorance they started in the beginning to endorse. The comment by the lady about the "Arab" was either a plant or was anticipated by the McCain campaign in order to show us that John McCain wasn't doing exactly what we saw him doing. After the outpouring of disgust and anger from normal Americans, he was forced to change course.
Now, there is no sign of a racial overtone or the threat that Obama supposedly posed just days ago. Once again, the McCain/Palin group has abandoned what wasn't working. They were ignorant of the potential their line of attack was capable of stirring up. Today, Barack Obama is a fine, decent, family man. No longer is he potentially a terrorist. What happened? Is Obama suddenly "not" a threat? Was he ever "any" threat? No.
America is struggling today. It is struggling financially and morally. This election and the tactics of a few have set America back 30 yrs. The backlash of the lack of responsible behavior from these potential candidates will not stop because they stopped talking about it. The Pandora's Box has been unlocked and no matter what they say, it is already out.
Black children are being spit on by white, racists pigs. Arab and other non-traditional Americans are being singled out for ridicule and abuse. John McCain and Sarah Palin showed us their potential to lead. Americans are calling blacks the n------r without any remorse, where just last year, we got Imus fired because he made a racist remark? What happened? They have shown us their ability to not bring us together, but to divide our country over race. These are not the signs of leadership that our country needs. When a leader will tear a country apart over a lie in an attempt to win, they will not put this Country First as they have tried to convince us they will.
Actions speak louder than words and in choosing a President you need to consider who has acted like a leader and who has stumbled and fumbled their way through this election process. Who brings America hope and who tears us down. Who progresses the very "civil rights" we have fought for around the world and in this country and who sets us back a 100 yrs.
We have to make the right decision for President this time. As we have seen with the Bush Administration. Charisma and cockiness have only destroyed this country. We don't need mavericks in the White House. We need dedicated people who truly love America and it's people. Country First means doing what it takes for America to be safe and prosperous. Not stirring up the masses to the point of violence in order to win.
Barack Obama, a black, educated, caring man has shown this Republican that he is steady and calm under fire. He has stated his concerns, his dreams and his ideas for making America great once again. He has not stooped to lies or to outrageous behavior. He has treated his opponent with respect and tried to show America that he is ready to lead us out of this crisis. He answered our questions about Ayers. He stood up against his pastor. He has picked a qualified and dignified running mate who has more experience than anyone else running.
You decide. If you are making your decision based on race, party or old ideas, you are as much a part of the problem of this country as John McCain and Sarah Palin. America cannot stand "Divided". We will only continue to be "Great" if we continue to be concerned about all of our people not just the few elite and the rebels. Pick our next President for what he stands for. Not what he is trying to "make" us believe.

Post a CommentI don't see my last comment so just in case it didn't post here it is again...
Awesome work! I totally agree! Obama/Biden '08!!!
Rose...since this is your (good!) article, send Kim your link to the Palin Youtube piece (can't find it, Hon. Sorry). And then, would you start to do "a bit of research"? I don't think it's going to change the facts as you (and any thinking person who has done research) will see them and as they are, but for those who are determined to vote for Bush's Third Term so that we totally self-destruct as a country, there's little that can be said except (with apologies in advance if this is, indeed, true, and acknowledgement that the correct term today would be something much more politically correct, like "deranged"), "Are you nuts?"
