Deciding Over Diesel or Gas

Diesel is often associated with being smelly, slow, loud, and noisy when compared to gas. However, most people do not notice that there are actually more advantages when using diesel. Here are some of the reasons why diesel is better than gas.

1. Cheap

Diesel is most definitely cheaper to run than gas. As consumers, we tend to choose the more affordable ones especially when it comes to fuel. Compared to gas, you can fill up a diesel vehicle without spending too much, and it will definitely go longer.

2. Higher Torque

Though diesel engines are not as powerful as gas engines, it gives more torque than any other fuel.

3. Reliable

Diesel-powered engines are more expensive than gas, due to the fact that it was made to be less complicated and heavier to build. It lasts longer, too, so you are assured that you are paying for what it is worth.

4. Turbo-charged

In comparison to a standard gasoline engine, a turbo-charged diesel is a bit more powerful. Turbo is one thing that vehicle owners look for in a vehicle and diesel is the better choice.

Aside from it's the one mentioned above, diesel also has some disadvantages. It is always best to look at the pros as well as the cons when comparing items.

1. Dirty

One of the most obvious disadvantages of using diesel is the smoke that it emits. It leaves a black smoke after it pulls off. This is due to the dirtier fuel of diesel, and not of an engine problem. Appearance is important to some people, and they do not like the fact that diesel can be dirty. It is also very loud.

2. Less Tunable

With a gas engine, you can get a better power increase. It is more tunable than diesel, so it is convenient to most users.

3. Less Horsepower

Gas is the better option if you are considering horsepower. Diesel is surprisingly low on this.

After carefully going through the advantages and disadvantages, consider your needs. Is diesel suitable to what you need? Do you think that it can reach your expectations? Remember to make sure that it will perform better than what you had expected. If you need a tunable engine with a lot of power, choose gasoline. If power and torque are what you really want, then you are better off with a diesel vehicle. The choice is completely up to you.
