Deciding to Thong or Not to Thong

Thongs are panties designed to offer a smooth fit without panty lines. Women of all ages are wearing this up side down triangle-shaped patch with a string attached to all three corners. Basically, the pyramid patch is to provide full coverage in the frontal area, a band on either side of the hip areas, and a strip running between he butt cheeks.

There is virtually a limitless array of thong styles. Some are embellished with flowers, butterflies, rhinestones, sequins, pearls or sexy words. Thongs are made from different fabrics, such as, cotton, cotton and spandex blends, cotton and lycra, silk knits, mesh and lace.

Thongs are not new, as men have worn thongs for eons. Boys and men wear thong-type garments when playing sports. Some wear them to bring attention to the fronts of their pants. And, some men wear them instead of swim trunks.

But, women can experience recurrent vaginal infections by wearing thongs. The strong part can cause the skin to become inflamed, leading to thrush. Thrush is a yeast infection of the skin, that thrives in warm, moist environments.

The string running through the rectum area can be a super-highway for bacteria to travel to the vaginal area. We all know proper wiping is from front to back, but wearing thongs defeat that purpose.

The entire genital area can be negatively impacted from the chafing, and become susceptible to infections. Also, bladder and urinary tract infections are more common in thong wearers.

Many women claim thongs give their butts a more natural look. There's nothing covering the butt, so how can it not look natural? Some believe thongs make their buns look sexier. Maybe, assuming their butts are not dimpled with cellulite. If a butt is sexy, most likely it would be sexy with or without a thong.

Still others claim their clothes fit better, and they feel better knowing there are no panty lines. So, why bother wearing anything? It's not like thongs cover any part of the butt anyway.

And, sad but true, there are some men and women who should not even 'think' of wearing a thong! Perhaps if you're over 25, got some extra padding in the hip area, belly or backside you might want to rethink donning a thong. A thong will do nothing for that 'natural' look for those that are obese or have sagging or hairy buttocks.

Be honest with yourself, put that thong on, and stand in front of a full-length mirror. Keep the lights turned on high, don't cheat by camouflaging with dim lighting. Now, really look at your front side, then catch a side-view, and finally, take a good look at that backside. Do you really like what you see? If those buns are perfect and similar to a baby's butt, well, then, you go!

Personally, I've spent a lifetime pulling pants and shorts out of that crack, and just can't for the life of me, understand why I would want an elastic string in there? Guess I'm just not with it!
