Deciding Whether or Not to Find Out the Gender of Your Baby

Taylor
Having a baby is one the greatest joys in life. When two people come together to create something so beautiful. Being pregnant also brings decisions. One decision that you will be faced with is whether or not you want to find out the sex of your baby. Here are a few things to keep in mind when you go in for an ultrasound and the doctor ask you "Would you like to know?" If you think you want to know, it maybe because you want to prepare yourself for what you're having. Knowing if it is a boy or girl will help you decide what you would like to do for your nursery.

Of course the most common choice is blue for boy, pink for girl. If you know it's a boy or girl, decorating the nursery can be fun not only in just what colors to use but also as to what theme you want his or her room to be. Now when it comes to decorating the nursery, you wont get stuck buying everything yourself. By finding out the sex, you will be able to help prepare your friends and family as well. This will help them figure out what to buy you for the baby shower or just to be nice. Sometimes you will be giving hand-me-downs by friends or relatives who have children but no longer fit into their clothes. You will want to be able to find the perfect name. Knowing the sex helps you find what name(s) you want if it's a boy or if it's a girl. Some people don't want to mess around and wait till the last minute to pick out a name. It could be frustrating and you might even choose a name that you later end up not liking very well.

It is always best to choose several names. Few people have said they have chosen a name and stuck with it the whole pregnancy. Once they delivered, they would change the name last minute. You would also want to have a back up name for those babies that surprise you. This brings me to my next point. You may find out that your having a girl and it turns out to be a boy instead or vice versa (although its more common to have a girl turn out to be a boy then it is this way). So don't be fooled by the ultrasound. There are ways to still prepare you if this does happen. These also apply for those you decide not to find out. As stated before make sure you have chosen several names. You will probably be grateful that you did. When it comes to decorating the nursery, use unisex colors such as green and yellow. Blue can be a unisex color as well if not too much is used. By not finding out can make the pregnancy fun. You will spend the whole pregnancy playing the guessing game. Eventually it'll probably drive you nuts a few times. But it will drive your friend and relatives nuts as well. It could be entertaining to see the people react when you tell them you're not going to find out. Despite what happens and what you decide to do you will be happy in the end. It will all be worth the wait.
