Decisions

C. Love
The things you do today
Will affect and shape your tomorrow
Decisions made last week
Have a much further reach
Than what you saw at the second
You made the decision or reckoned
It was finished, you could move on
Assuming it's dealt with, pressure gone
As you decide which way to twist or turn
The outcome tomorrow, a lesson learned
The ramifications from the day to day
Can present themselves on time delay
Something as simple as choosing yes or no
At an unknown future point could blow
Each decision you make today
Determines unseen factors laying your pathway
Insignificantly as it may seem
Tremendous impact on future dreams
Joining yourself to the wrong mate
Could seal the coffin on a depressive fate
Being in the wrong place at the wrong time
Can bring about imminent demise
The job you accept, location where you reside
Determines the people with whom you'll collide
Every minor thing plays a major part
Creating your life's work of art
You have to look beyond what's easily seen
Forward thinking past what's on the screen
Things ignored, overlooked or deemed irrelevant
Create mistakes and make regret more prevalent
Scratch further than surface, mentally transcend
Contemplate what each action or decision may lend
It's the things you think aren't really a big deal
Years from now you will still be able to feel

Great poem. Many of the decisions I have made both good and bad have had a direct impact on my life. Keep up the good work. Look forward to reading more of your work on AC. :-)

Excellent poem!!! This is a lesson that many of us wish we had learned much earlier in life.
