Decisions

Donna Cavanagh
Do I? or Don't I? -- a simple choice
But one that may have far-reaching implications
Four little syllables can transform a life
And fill it with change and complications

Some people are quick to make decisions
Others struggle with the simplest choice
Some ponder alone and meditate for hours
Still others look for answers in someone else's voice

Many would like to put in their opinion
And guide us to wear they want us to be
Some tell us to just follow our gut
And let fate take us where we are destined to be

It's funny how some turn every decision
Into a struggle that requires deep contemplation
Sometimes life is not that hard to live
It's there to enjoy so let go of the aggravation

Some decisions require almost no thought
Others are meant for deep discussion
But when the simple ones pass through your door each day
Make your choice without always fearing the repercussion

We should not become paralyzed by the decisions before us
We need to understand that at times mistakes are made
Our choices become muddled when fueled by inner chaos
Wiser choices are made when we are not so afraid

Being the proverbial "young and foolish" lass, I'm always in a rush. Indecision won't sit long on my nest.

Sometimes a good decision has a bad outcome. One needs to accept whatever outcome happens as a result of the decision.

I tend to make quick decisions...trust my gut sort of things. Most of the time, it's right for me.
