Decoding, The DaVinci Code

Marlyn Lopes
I've just seen another documentary about Dan Brown's novel, "The DaVinci Code", and again, I see all kinds of different "Christian" sects up in arms over the idea that, as according to many conspiracy minded people, that Jesus Christ, (1) married Mary Magdalene, and (2) fathered a child with her. I've decided that the time is now to put this debate to an end. "Christians" that have been disgusted with that notion should be ashamed of themselves. This is only further proof that many people follow their church blindly, without any true knowledge of the scriptures.

First of all, let me make it clear to the public, that Jesus did, indeed, walk this earth just as human as the next guy, and as according to Hebrews 4:15, was tempted in every single way that man can be tempted. Does this mean that the temptation to have sex would be exempt from all the others? No, because the scripture makes it clear that he was tempted in all points. This would prove that Jesus might have even had to deal with the temptation of homosexuality. Found sinless at his death would prove that any temptation that would have lead to sin, he obviously rebuked at the very moment of the thought rearing its ugly head. This brings me to my next point, which I believe many "Christians" tend to overlook, because they choose to. According to 1Corinthians 7:28, marriage is not a sin. Even if Jesus had decided to get married, where in the bible can we find that this would've been a sin? Reading further in this same chapter, you will find that, when asked, Paul thought it best that people remained unmarried, so as to dedicate their lives fully to doing the will of the Father. I believe he intentionally wrote this, in accordance with what he believed about Jesus, who, as we know, did dedicate his whole life to doing the Father's will. I think it's quite obvious that if marriage isn't considered sin, neither would having children be sin.

Certain scriptures, like Romans 5:12, and 1Corinthians 15:21, would indicate that sin was inherited from Adam. This would have to be through process. In other words, because everybody in the world comes from his loins, then, of course, through direct descendancy from Noah, and his sons, we are all sinners, as well. Again, he become unclean, per se, while we, his descendants, were still within him, so now we're all unclean as well. Jesus was the only man exempt from this, because, as taught by the scriptures, he had no earthly father. To prove this 'process', we must refer to scriptures, such as Hebrews 7:9-10. We are taught from this scripture that Levi, although still within the loins of his father, Abraham, paid tithes to Melchizedek. If we can accept this as being fact, then there leaves no room for doubting that sin passes through men by the same 'process'. If my point is not understood by this point, please, continue reading.

Let us now consider one of the most quoted scriptures in the whole bible. According to John 3:16, Jesus died for the sins of the world. Romans 3:23 teaches us that all have sinned. 1John 1:8, and :10, goes further to say that if any person claims that they haven't, or don't sin, this claim would blatantly call the Father, and Jesus, liars! Do we dare?

Now, for my point. If sin passes through people, to where, if a man makes himself unclean by sin, then his seed within him are unclean as well, this would also ring true when considering the opposite. If Jesus, the picture of pure perfection, as according to a previous scripture mentioned, Hebrews 4:15, did have a child, this child would have been perfect! His perfect child would (1), have no need for a savior, being born perfect, and would, therefore, make the ultimate sacrifice for a new covenant, Jesus Christ, null and void! Secondly, this would make such scriptures as John 3:16, Romans 3:23, and 1John 1:8, and :10, blatant contridictions! For those that know biblical history, every scripture mentioned here was clearly written after this alleged child would have been born, so it's obvious that the reason for Jesus having to die would still have been believed, even while the child was growing. This would also prove that at the time these scriptures were written, still, nobody was considered perfect, and wouldn't even consider such thoughts.

I hope that I've helped to clear this up for everone. Firstly, even if Jesus did get married, and fathered a child, this would not take anything away from him, or even from the things he taught us, on learning how to perfectly love one another. Last, but not least, I'm sure the scriptures, without my help, speak for themselves. So, let's all just get along, and let those that try to discredit our Lord and Savior try. It's not gonna happen! The love of Yehovah, and His Son, Yeshua Meshiah, be with you all.

Better yet, let's discard the mythology once and for all, and stop thinking of the bible as anything more than words of people...
