Deconstructing Britney

It's hard for me to fathom how this pop star, this diva, this icon if you will has fallen so hard so fast. It's truly shocking and sad to see. And while over the top and overly flamboyant maybe Chris Crocker's plea of "Leave Britney Alone!" is exactly what she needs. She doesn't need cameras in her face while she shops for groceries. She doesn't need camera in her face when she checks her mailbox. It's disgusting how the media has wrecked this girl. Now granted a lot of it is probably her own fault. But these money hungry blood-suckers getting thousands of dollars for a picture of a potential boob slip or underwear flash is pretty low.

The paparazzi have bugged Brit so bad she's started dating one. This guy is scum to the nth degree. He's already giving interviews about their relationship. Adnan Ghalib is going to make Kevin Federline look like Time magazine's Man of the Year. Speaking of K-Fed, isn't it ironic that's he's become the responsible parent in all of this?! Maybe the media had this guy pegged wrong because one thing is obvious and that is Britney Spears is disturbed.

Dr. Phil coming to the rescue? Blech! Another publicity hound! He shot off his mouth too and now he's on his apology campaign. You're right Phil ,Britney needs help but do you have to add to the media spectacle of it all.

What sent her over the edge? Back to back pregnancies and the pressure to stay "slim and beautiful"? Is it drugs? Is she bi-polar? Heck, I'm no doctor. But I'm going to offer some serious and probably obvious to everyone except those surrounding Britney advice: Pack the girl up and take her somewhere private and hire a good shrink. Yes I'm serious. I'm not talking about LA, New Yorl or ever anywhere in the US where she would be instantly recognized. I'm talking some relatively remote region, maybe the Caribbean. I'm talking a nice long vacation. The girl needs a break from all of this mess. She doesn't need to be out in clubs until all hours. The news reports are saying that Briney had been awake for four straight days at the time she was brought in to the hospital this time. The girl needs rest and if anyone has enough money to disappear for a good long while its Britney.

It can be done. We once thought that Anne Heche and Mariah Carey were nuts, too. And their careers have revived remarkably. There's no reason to think Spears couldn't do the same.

For her sake I hope she does because the major newspapers already have her obituary on stand-by. Just in case. And that would be tragic.
