Decorate a Bedroom Over Time
You do not have to decorate a bedroom all at once. Decide what you would like to do in the room and a plan to accomplish it. You may want to begin saving money for new bedroom furniture or you could buy new décor for the room once a week or once a month.
Decorate Bedroom Walls
One of the cheapest ways to make the biggest impact in a room is with paint. Paint is rather cheap, and you can use it to change the feel of a room, or use color-blocking to create impact. If you do not have a headboard, paint the wall your bed is against a different color (but still complimentary) than the rest of the room.
Decorate the Windows and the Bed in the Bedroom
Window coverings and some form of a bedspread are general necessities for any bedroom but they also stand for a great deal when you decorate a bedroom. If you cannot afford art or other décor then use the window coverings and bed to make a statement. Use bold patterns or colors. If you are creative, you could even try creating art or décor yourself for the room.
Decorate a Bedroom with Cheap or Free Decor
Ask friends or family who have the same taste as you if they have anything they are giving away or find décor in other areas of your home that may look better decorating a bedroom. Free is always best when you decorate a bedroom but if you have to spend money then look for deals before you spend the money on something new. Check flea markets, garage sales, and local classifieds for items you could use.
It can help you start and end each day better if you enjoy the bedroom you sleep in but decorating it to get it that way doesn't have to cost you a fortune.
