Decorate the Big Neighborhood Tree Christmas Party
Trim the Outside Neighborhood Christmas Tree Party
Some suggestions on what you will need to make this project successful include:
invitations
food/drinks
ladders
decorations for tree and party
signs for your tree
poles to lift up lights to the very top
decorators
party planners/hosts
clean up.
How to go about getting your decorating Christmas party plans in gear.
1. Simply approach a couple neighbors for their thoughts - if you wish.
2. Go it alone and make the invitations. Ask folks to get back to you ASAP.
3. Ask for volunteers or assign jobs.
4. Kids enjoy and will have opportunity to help.
5. Decide if you want a special themed tree or if you want everyone to bring decorations.
Some examples could be you'd like a tree with clear lights and stars. A sign [either made by children or more professional [your choice] could say "Love From Our Neighborhood Shines In Your Heart ." Or you could ask everyone to bring five strings of lights and 3 boxes of large Christmas tree decorations and you could also have a lovely tree.
6. Food could be pot luck, simmering soups or stew, appetizers, or even desserts. Drinks could include sodas, beer, wine, traditional apple cider, hot chocolate or a great slush.
7. Some people may prefer working for the actual party and some may prefer doing the actual decorating. Some may just want to watch. That's OK.
8. Clean up is essential. You'll want the tree area to be tidy and your hostess will appreciate a clean house when you go home.
Music is great - both at the tree site and at the actual Tree Decorating Party. Does anyone play a mean guitar or some other instrument?
Invite the local paper to come over while you're neighborhood is decorating the Christmas tree. A great human interest story - plus, they may come back and take photos of the lit tree and your whole neighborhood.
Have fun with your neighborhood Christmas Tree decorating party! Take lots of pictures to share. If someone is selling their home - or when someone will be selling later - these pictures could prove that your neighborhood is fun and that this would be a wonderful area for their family..
