With Toy Story 3 out in the theatres, children are buzzing all about their favorite characters. If you have a little boy or girl that has quickly fallen in love with Woody and the gang, then surprise them and redo their room with a Toy Story theme. There are several ways you can decorate your child's room. This article will give you several tips on how to get started.

Decorate Your Child's Room with a Toy Story Theme #1: Paint

If you own your own home, you can paint your child's room. If you rent, be sure to get the homeowners permission (you'll have to paint the room back to its original color when you move) before you start painting. Depending on what colors your child seems to like from the movie, a very basic choice is to just opt for light blue and green. If your child's room has four walls, paint two blue and two green. Make sure that the same wall colors aren't next to each other.

Decorate Your Child's Room with a Toy Story Theme #2: Bedding

Toy Story is so popular that thankfully there is plenty of Toy Story bedding for sale. There is bedding available for toddler beds and twin beds. Walmart.com has a Toy Story Buzz and Woody four piece toddler bedding set for $25 dollars. It comes with a top sheet, fitted sheet, pillowcase and comforter, a great deal for the price. If you want a regular sheet set, JcPenney has one for $24.99 in twin size. It comes with a flat sheet, fitted sheet and a pillow case (also available in full size for a few dollars extra). If you'd like to opt out of getting new bedding completely, Target.com sells a fun Toy Story tent that will fit over your child's entire bed for $19.99.

Decorate Your Child's Room with a Toy Story Theme #3: Floor

The floor is also very important because it will be where your child spends a lot of time playing with their toys. To make the room more special, buy Toy Story rugs. There are bath rugs that don't have to be used in the bathroom; they would be suitable for your child's room. Target.com sells a bath rug that has Buzz and Woody on it for just $12.99. Want something a little sturdier? JcPenney has a regular rug in the shape of Buzz Light Year for $39.99.

If you don't want to buy a character rug, buy a rug that is color themed with the movie (like green or blue for Buzz Lightyear, Brown or gold for Woody, etc).

Decorate Your Child's Room with a Toy Story Theme #4: Walls

The walls are fun and easy to decorate. The easiest way to do it is to buy posters and hang one or two on each wall. You can also make your own cut outs using poster board. Amazon.com sells a poster of Woody and Buzz for $8.18. All Posters.com has another fun themed poster that says "Protecting All Toys Everywhere" and has pictures of all of the gang. It sells for $6.99.For more poster choices, visit this link.

Decorate Your Child's Room with Toy Story Theme #5 Decorations

Decorations are another easy thing to do. You could buy a lap with a stand, buy a blue, yellow, brown or green lamp shade and superglue a couple of Buzz and Woody to the base of the lap for an instant Toy Story decoration that is also useful.

For a cheaper route, consider using party supplies as decorations. My Toy Box.com sells a birthday banner that says "Ready to Play" and has pictures of the Toy Story gang on it. This would be ideal hanging across the ceiling of the room. You can buy it for $3.39.

A piñata makes a really wonderful decoration and can be the focal point in the room. Hang it from the ceiling, high enough that your child can't reach it. Don't put candy in it. It's only for a decoration. Explain that to your child. Buy Costumes.com sells a piñata that is in the shape of Buzz Lightyear's space ship and has Buzz on the front with aliens at the back. It sells for $22.99. You should be happier paying that price considering it's going to be a decoration and not smashed on the floor.

Parties 4 Kids sells a four piece dangler set. Pictures of the Toy Story Crew hang at the end of strings. You could hang these up from the ceilings or in your child's doorway. They sell for $3.89.
