Decorate Your Front Yard for Father's Day for Less Than $25

Ann Siper
Looking for some affordable Father's Day decorations for the front yard? Well, here are some Father's Day decoration ideas you will love! You can do every one of these Father's Day yard decorations for $25 or less; depending on what materials you have to buy.

Father's Day Wreath:

Use a simple pre made wreath form from your local craft store for the basis for this Father's Day yard décor. Grab some pre made wooden letters at the craft store as well. They should spell out Happy Father's Day. Paint them out in a silver or any left over exterior paint color you have.

Now, you can use hot glue, wood glue, or floral wire to attach them to the pre made wreath. Hang on your front door to welcome Dad home!

Happy Father's Day Planters:

I absolutely love this idea for decorating the yard for Father's Day. It is a little more subdued and elegant.

You can use existing potted flowers or buy some at the local home improvement store for this one.

Now, you will need to buy wooden letters that spell out "Happy Father's Day." Also, buy one wooden dowel for each letter. These dowels should be at least 1 foot tall. Paint out the letters and the wood dowels to match. Let the kids paint on polka dots or whatever. Let them dry. Use wood glue to glue the wood letters to the wood dowels.

While this is drying line your front steps with flowers already planted in flower pots. Stab one letter in each flower pot spelling out "Happy Father's Day!!" This Father's Day yard decoration idea is easy, cute, and fun to make.

Home Made "Dad" Scare Crow:

Use an old dress shirt, some old slacks, a white pillow case, and an old hat to make a simple and fun Dad inspired scare crow. You can check out your local goodwill for these items if Dad does not have any old clothing. Be sure to take inspiration from how dad traditionally dresses. Add a blazer if you can!

Button the dress shirt up completely and sew it to the slacks at the waste. You can use no sew for this. Don't worry you can use a pair of scissors to remove the stitching late if you need the clothing back.

Stuff the "Dad" clothing with some hay. Stuff a head for your scarecrow using hay and the pillow case. Add a hat and draw on a face with a marker.

Add a Wheel Barrel.

Break out the wheel barrel you use for yard work (or that dad's uses for yard work). Rest your Father's Day "Dad" scarecrow in the wheel barrel. Have his feet hanging out over the side. You will need to use some hay or some rocks to prop him up from behind to make him look like he is sitting!

Now, have the kids take an old blue tarp, you know the kind every Dad in the world has. They can use scissors to cut it down to a size banner that can hang on the side of the wheel barrel.

Use exterior paints from home projects to paint on the words "Happy Father's Day!" or even "Best Dad of the Year!"
