Using artificial flowers and plants are an ideal way to dress up a porch. You put them in stands on the floor or on tables or you can hang them from the ceiling. You can also use them in stands along the pillars of the porch. Use bright flowers to create a lush look. When you use artificial flowers or plants, you can use them during the bad weather months, too.
When you want to make your porch welcoming for guests, remember to use plastic, good looking cups and plates. Have a pitcher of lemonade on the table or if you prefer another beverage have that there, too. It is also a nice idea to have a radio or some other type of music playing so that they will comfortable and sit and relax for a while.
Porches are wonderful places to sit and relax in the evenings. You should have an outdoor lamp so that you can read and relax when it starts to get dark.
You might also want to add some carts and other items that can store cups and plates so that you don't have to bring them back and forth into the home. Make sure that you use plastic ones so that if they fall they will not break. In the cart, you should also have other items like utensils, salt and pepper shakers, napkins and other such items. You should also make sure that you have a pretty waste basket somewhere out on the porch, too.
Another great idea for porches is to have an enclosed awning that you can pull down when the weather starts to turn bad. Then, you can stay out on the porch and not get wet or cold. You can find these at a department store or by searching online.
Decorating your porch should be a fun experience. Try different things before you settle with the total look. You can also change it later if you want. Make it comfortable for you and welcoming to others and you will be able to use your porch to the fullest extent.
