Decorate Under Your Christmas Tree

Does your Christmas tree always seem to look empty and bare until Santa Claus arrives on Christmas Eve? This year you could decorate under the tree to make it look full and plentiful until Santa comes. Here are a couple of ways to make your tree look warm and inviting until Christmas Eve night.

WRAP A BOX FOR DECORATION UNDER THE TREE: To add a little extra decor under the tree and make it look full until Santa comes, you can simply wrap some extra boxes for decoration to set under the tree. Collect some different sized boxes to wrap. To wrap, place a box in the center of a piece of wrapping paper, that matches the colors that you used to decorate your Christmas tree with. Pull two opposites edges of the paper up to the center of the box, then tape them in place. Where the seam is will be the bottom side of the box. Then on the open ends, pull the left and right edges of the paper into the center and tape them down. Going from the corners of the box, crease the paper, where it naturally will form a triangle at the top and bottom of the box. Simply pull the top triangle down and tape it into place and then pull the top triangle up and tape it into place to finish the wrapping.

LIGHT IT UP: Once you have the gifts wrapped you can add bows to some of them, but not all. Using the wrapped boxes that do not have bows, wrap them in some extra strands of Christmas lights, individually. Use only one strand of lights per box, you only need to wrap three or four boxes with lights. Do not overwrap them, simply wrap the lights once or twice each way around the box, so that each of the four sides are wrapped, similar to the way you would wrap ribbon around a present. Once the wrapped boxes are wrapped in a strand of lights, plug the lights in and position the boxes where you would like under the tree. You can plug in and unplug the lights present lights when you plug in and unplug the Christmas tree.

TREE SKIRT: Another simple way to add a little extra decor under the tree is to add a tree skirt. Tree skirts come in all different colors and shapes, find one that matches your tree well and add it under the wrapped boxes.
