In your birdbath, line the bottom with nicely colored leaves. Set a pumpkin in the middle and then some apples. Add a few nuts and you have an attractive arrangement that the birds can enjoy too.
Take a few corn stalks and tie them together with some raffia. Take some Indian corn and bundle them together with raffia and tie on to the corn stalks.
This arrangement can be tied to a small tree trunk, a pole stuck in to the ground or on the corner of a fence by your garden. Place a few pumpkins or gourds on the ground around the stalks.
Take an old garden shovel and paint the metal part yellow and orange, in stripes or checkerboard. Wrap some grapevine or raffia loosely around the handle pole and to the top of the handle you can add a nice bow. Hang the shovel on a hook by your back door or set it on your front porch with a few pumpkins.
Make a scarecrow sitting on a hay bale. Stick a pole in to the middle of the hay bale and stick a pumpkin on the top of the pole. Button a flannel shirt on the pole and stuff with hay, straw or even plastic bags. Next take a pair of blue jeans and secure to hay bale under the flannel shirt. Stuff legs of jeans, bending at the knee, so the bottom of the legs can go in front of the hay bale.
Set some boots under the legs of the pants, pins some stuffed work gloves on for his hands and a straw hat to top him off. Set some pumpkins or mum plants on and by the hay bale.
Fill an old wheel barrow or wagon with some leaves. Set a large pumpkin or mum plant in the middle and add some mini pumpkins, squash or gourds around it. Can be set any where needing that perfect Autumn touch.
Making an Autumn wreath couldn't be easier. Take some grapevine and make a wreath or purchase a grapevine wreath at your local Wal-Mart or craft store. Wire or hot glue some leaves, flowers, (zinnia's look great) nuts and mini gourds on to the wreath. You can hang this plain or add a Autumn colored bow.
