Decals
Have you considered decals to decorate the walls or doors of an apartment bedroom or bathroom? There are many decals made especially for walls, and the options for decorating with decals are almost endless.
I decorated my daughter's bedroom with a cluster of butterflies, bees, and flowers. I artfully placed peel and stick decals around her bedroom window, and they trail off around her bed. The decals made otherwise plain walls, very decorative and exceptionally appealing.
When you're ready to move, or if you get tired of the decals, they peel right off without leaving a clue. You can find decals at home improvement stores, and you'll find a small selection at many larger discount stores. Search online for the decals you want at the lowest possible prices.
Contact Paper
As you know, contact paper has sticky backing, and people generally use it to line shelves and drawers. Contact paper comes in many stylish colors and patterns, and it's a great way to add color to a small section of wall. As long as the wall has been properly painted, the contact paper will come off without causing damage to apartment walls.
Try your hand at hanging removable contact paper on the section of wall above the kitchen sink or on one wall in a bathroom. When it's time to move, or if you get tired of the same pattern, simply pull off the paper.
Self-stick Border
Not all wallpaper borders must be glued to the wall. There are peel and stick wallpaper borders that are perfect for decorating apartment walls. They are easy to apply, and before your final apartment inspection, they'll come off without a hitch.
You can find peel and stick wallpaper borders in home improvement stores, wallpaper stores, and online. Shop for peel and stick wallpaper border online to view the largest selection, and to attain the best possible price.
Lightweight Hangers
If you want to avoid putting numerous nails in apartment walls while decorating, lightweight items can be hung on straight pins. The holes made by straight pins are so tiny; if they are visible, they can easily be filled and disguised.
Quick and Easy Hole Filler
If you have small holes to fill in apartment walls and want a quick and easy fix, fill in holes with white toothpaste. If the holes are small and the edges are smooth, no one will notice the repairs. Best of all, the apartment will smell minty fresh!

Post a CommentKim,
Thank you for this information. Our apartment has been depressing for almost a year now. We don't want to paint, because we're not sure how long we will be living there. I put up a few framed pictures, but they just were not doing the trick. I took your advice and purchased a simple self-stick border. We chose a solid color of dark red. It was really easy to apply and it made a huge difference. It's made the room look more elegant. I'm so glad I stumbled upon your article. I never would have heard about self-stick borders if it weren't for you.
With utmost gratitude,
Janey
Any suggestions for a three-story monster house built in 1880? Bull dozing has come to mind, but that would take up too much energy.
