Decorating a Christmas Tree with a Cat Theme

Michael Sass
Anyone who is owned by a cat would love to decorate their Christmas tree with a cat theme. The way you do it is only limited by your imagination and those who live with cats have to have great imaginations. There are ideas for decorating a Christmas tree with a Cat theme that you can buy and some that you can make. Get started early and you can make your Christmas tree a unique expression of just how you feel about your feline friends.

Cat Christmas Ornament - Cat Angel on a Cloud
This ornament is made of carved wood, measures 3" x 2 3/4" and costs just $7.99

Fishbowl Frame for Kitty
These are so reasonable, you can get one for each cat and make a set of unique Christmas ornaments. You can have the ornament personalized with the cat's name and year if you wish. They cost. $9.99 each.

Christmas Cat Ornament (Oval)
This cat hand painted painted on porcelain is just peacefully waiting for Santa. It is 2.3" x 3.25" with a bright red ribbon to tie it onto the tree. This one costs $11.95.

Don't use garland on the tree, use yarn instead. Use it to tie the ornaments on the tree. Braid different colors of yarn to wind around the tree and hang small ornaments from it. Make yarn pompoms to tie to the tree. Yarn is one of a cat's favorite things, after all.

Another choice is another favorite cat play thing, ribbons. Or if you are of a creative mood , make your own using fabrics with cat prints.

There are some beautiful fabrics here with cats doing just about everything. Cut the width you want, cut as many as you need to make the length you want, sew end to end and hem each side so it does not unravel. It takes a bit of work, but it is a good project for the older kids to work on. You can make it in to bows to tie on the Christmas tree, or garland to wind around. One thing for sure, no one else will have the same thing on their Christmas tree.

The Cat Tree Top Angel is the perfect finishing touch to your Christmas tree with a cat theme. You can choose from many different breeds. The white robe costs $32.95 and the gold $34.95.
