Picking a dark green for the walls is a good idea. Next, you will want to have window coverings in a lighter weight fabric and shade lighter of green than the walls. To make this room really great you need a good plump sofa with lots of pillows. The sofa can be black or tan or it can have a green print in it. To make it feel more relaxing have some large throw pillows. Get these in either tan or black. In the room you should also have two big, comfortable chairs. Their colors should be solid to compliment the sofa.
Have a coffee table in the room and in the center of it you will want to put a wooden bowl. In it you should fill it with fruits. You should have plenty of plants in this room. Whether they are real or not, they should be placed in corners of the room and on end tables on either side of the sofa.
To make this room very relaxing you can have a television and stereo in it. Keep it the color black so it blends in good with the room. Lighting is important in this room. Get lamps with dark colored shades to subdue the light when it is turned on. You can have ceiling lights on a dimmer so that you can make them go down really low. Have a reading lamp, too, so that you will be able to sit in this room and read.
For more interest to the room get a dark green blanket the color of the walls and throw this over the back of the sofa so that it is there when you get chilly to wrap yourself up in. For figurines in this room you will not want anything flashy. Pottery items and ceramic items will look wonderful in this room. Clay figurines are also nice to put in a room like this. On the walls you should put up relaxing scenes of the outdoors or the ocean. This will give you the feeling of peace when you are sitting in this room.
Having fun decorating your green room should be a priority. Go shopping to gather the things you need to do the job and enjoy the time. Go on sale days so that you can get the best savings. Make sure that you have all that you need before you begin and put your favorite music on to keep you moving as you create your most relaxing green room. It will be a room that you will want to spend plenty of time in, so take the time to make it as nice and as comfortable as you possibly can.
