Make a cemetery to celebrate being "Over the Hill"
Cover the cake with green frosting to represent the grass, but don't stop there. Grab a package of your favorite chocolate cookie, whether it's an Oreo or something else, and crush them up.
Place gravestones in the cemetery using Vanilla Wafers or chocolate covered graham crackers. Then sprinkle the crushed chocolate cookies around the headstone to form a grave.
Make a bones cake to celebrate being "Over the Hill"
Have you ever seen the plastic skeleton structures that are designed to help children learn about the human skeleton? These are plastic skeletons that are designed for kids to put together, bone by bone. You can find an example by clicking HERE.
Purchase two of these skeleton kits and use the bones to decorate the top of the cake. Arrange them so that they're sitting down, having a party. Make it even more celebratory of being "Over the Hill" by removing a leg or an arm! Plant the missing limb into the cake itself, awarding a prize to the lucky soul who finds the missing limb.
Make a retro cake to celebrate being "Over the Hill
Did they wear polyester suits or hot pants? Do they know who the Bee Gees or Meatloaf are? Make their cake special by decorating it with items from their past. You can find tons of photographs online that you can print and have transferred to edible frosting sheets.
Place these edible sheets on top of the cake along with other memorabilia from their youth.
Use candles to show their age to decorate an "Over the Hill" cake
Whether they're 30, 40, 50 or more, buy that many candles and put all of them on the cake. Set the candles ablaze and let them "see" just how old they really are! Your best bet is to use very long candles, and have someone (or two) help you light all of the candles on the cake.
Be careful - you just might want to have a fire extinguisher nearby when you light this cake!
