The ideal place to set up your trellis is at the top of the stairway. The second most interesting place is at the bottom of a set of steps. When you pick the place you want to set your trellis make sure that you have someone to help you put it up. It is too awkward to set one up alone, so ask someone to help you when you are putting it up.
When you are planning to use your trellis outdoors, remember to clean it well first and then to anchor it well in the ground. You don't want it to blow over in the wind, so make sure that it is in the ground tight. If you need to add anchors you should and then wire the trellis to the anchors.
For decorating your trellis remember that you should put the lights on first. Make sure that you have a long outdoor extension cord and lights that are made specifically for outside. Wind the light around the trellis from top to bottom on both sides. Use twist ties to anchor the lights in place so that when the wind blows they don't move out of position.
You can add all kinds of great decorations to the trellis. Put tinsel around it and wind artificial flowers and other interesting things around it. Hang a fantastic outdoor decoration from the center of the trellis.
After the holidays are over you can still leave your trellis up. Just remove the lighting or leave it unplugged and take off the tinsel and other holiday items. You can also take it down and store it in your shed or garage. One tip, when taking down your trellis. If it comes apart make sure that you have all the pieces. Store it in a box and mark it so that you know where it is. If you wish you can set it up in your garden during the spring for another fantastic look to your outdoors. This makes a wonderful entrance to flower garden or a pond, so consider that for the warmer weather months.
A small trellis can even be used inside after the holidays, but it will take up space and it might not be practical. If you are planning to use it inside your home make sure that you have ample space around it so that it does not overcrowd your room.
A trellis is a fantastic outdoor piece for the holidays. Consider getting one or using one that you already have this year and see how festive your home will look. It will really make it cheerful and exciting during the holiday times.
