Decorating Your Sunroom with Plants

Shannon Frye
People usually have sun rooms in their home and they place some furniture in the sun room and sit in the room from time to time. If you never really go into the room you might consider making this room a room for only plants. You can purchase one very large plant to go in the center of the room. You can then place all the smaller plants on the other sides of this large main focal point.

A sunroom is a good place for your plants for a number of reasons. Usually sun rooms have very large open windows and your plants will do great in this room. They will get direct sunlight from the windows and they will grow to be larger and fuller. If you love plants and you want to have a place to admire all of your plants you can place them all together so you can enjoy all of them. If you don't have a sun room you have to place your plants in different rooms and split them up. With all the plants in one room you can enjoy them all together.

Another good reason to place all of the plants together is so you can water them all at once. Think of the amount of time that you will save watering all of your plants if they are all in the same place. You wont have to run to the faucet to get water and run into each room to water the plants. There are probably always a few plants that you forget to water but if they are all in one spot you wont forget to water any of them.

Some of the plants you can move into hanging baskets to hang up in the room. That will help remove some of the space above all of your plants. You can paint the room a bright color that will seem more bright. You want this room to feel as open and as sunny as possible. You can purchase different plant stands to lift some of the plants up off of the ground. Remember to purchase some type of plates which go under the pots to hold in the water.

You can purchase some pictures which will accent your plants. You can purchase different pictures of flowers and plants. You can also purchase some items from the craft store such as fruits and vegetables to place on a table in your sunroom. You want the room to serve its point and be useful. You can still sit in the room but you will want to accent the room with all of your plants without cluttering up the room.

Yes. Hang photos of plants. Just like how you hang photos of silverware in your kitchen.
