Decorating with Teapots and Teacups

If you're like me, you love the art of taking and serving tea. I love everything about the ritual of afternoon tea. So, it's not surprising that decorating with teapots and teacups is something that I find enjoyable. Here are some ways to incorporate your love of tea into decorating a beautiful home.

Kitchen

You can put your beautiful teapots on display in your kitchen. There are so many places. Of course there are ordinary places like on top of the kitchen table or countertop. But, how about on top of the cupboards, if there is space? My mother has gorgeous teapots lined along the top of her cupboards. It is a breathtaking sight upon entering her kitchen to see her vast array of pretty teapots. Any kind of glass encasement would be a great place to display teapots. A bakers rack or china cabinet is also a great place to display beautiful teapots and teacups.

Bedroom

There are various types of teacup and teapot lamps that are available. Most of the lamps that I have seen are for children's nurseries, but I have seen a few for adults in various antique shops. You can also use teapots to put flowers in, and have them in various parts of the house. Flowers in teapots look beautiful in a sunroom or on a screen in porch. It adds a special air of charm and elegance.

A little girls room not only looks cute with teacup lamps, but with a tea set spread out on a little children's table.

Teacup candles are a great way to add a delightful touch to a room. In the dining room or kitchen where you prepare to have dinner, you can always have little candles sitting in teacups for a cute effect. Even if you don't plan to light them, teacup candles are a cute piece of décor to any room.

Miscellaneous

Teapots can also be used to hold miscellaneous items, like pretty pens, for a cute decorative touch. Teapots and teacups add charm and elegance to any room of the house. Finding ways to add them to your décor will do much for adding that extra bit of elegance to your home. Decorated uniquely, they will serve as conversation pieces for guests at your home. But, more importantly, it is a reminder of good entertaining and hosting. Whenever someone comes to your home, you can always use one of your beautiful teapots to serve them a warm cup of tea.
