Decorations for Your Mardi Gras Party

Well, you have the food for your Mardi Gras party. You have your drink recipes, now it's time to think about decorations.

Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday, is celebrated 47 days before Easter which is the day before Ash Wednesday, when Lent begins. The celebration time for Mardi Gras usually begins January 6th, this is called Carnival.

Even though it's the time for celebrating Mardi Gras in places like New Orleans, you can throw a Mardi Gras themed party any time of year, not only during Mardi Gras season. Below you will find several great projects and items you can use to decorate at your Mardi Gras party.

Remember, Mardi Gras colors are purple, green and gold. The symbolism to these colors are purple for justice, green for faith, and gold for power. Mardi Gras is a time to use lots of sparkle and loud, bold decorations.

Lights

Lights are always a decoration that will add tons of sparkle to your Mardi Gras party. Get some Mardi Gras lights or just some simple colored twinkle lights in clear, purple, green and gold, and put them up all over.
